I love the Classics. my question pertains to a thread I read about volume 1. Someone said that they would use this one once a week and it would do wonders. Well, my question is are the classics the same as volume 1? If that is so I can keep alternating between the classics once a week and the newer firms. I just can't remember where I read that post at. So I decided to start using Volume 1 every week until I get more post back.

The Classics are Volumes 1 thru 6. They've all been renamed, but maybe the leads will help you know which is which...
Vol 1's instructor is none other than Susan Harris.
Vol 2's lead is Janet Jones-Gretsky.
Vol 3's lead is Sandahl Bergman.
Vol 4's leads are Susan H & Kai S.
Vol 5's lead is LaReine Chabut.
Vol 6's instructor is Jayne Poteet.

Well, sorry I meant do the other classics give the same results like I read that volume 1 does? I always read that volume 1 really changes your hips and shoulders.

That's a tough one to answer. Off-hand, I'd say, "Yes!" but I never only had just Vol 1. I started working out in 92, and bought all six (That's all there were!) Firms within three months (at $50 ea, even!). I believe it was alternating between all of them that totally changed my body. Having said that, Vols 1 2, 3, & 4 are the most fun, so those are the ones I gravitated toward most. Btw, there's nothing like Vol 1's leg work. Nothing.

Apryl, thanks for the feedback. Do you know of a way to alternate between the classics and the new firms. Maybe I should just try the classics for awhile. But that is great to hear of the results with just alternating the classics. I have a classic pear shape, lower tummy bulge. I love when my shoulders get pumped. I will definitely do the classics for a rotation.

Hi Geneva,
I'm a pear, myself. If I gain, it all seems to go to my hips. The [original, esp] Firms seem to make a huge difference for me, not only in that area, but everywhere.
I'm not familiar with the GT Firms; I didn't keep many of them at all, but I guess my advice would be the same no matter what. Get to know your workouts and how they affect you. Be sure to not work a particular body part extremely hard on consecutive days. Put maybe a cardio day between tough weight work. Listen to your body... Learn when to push and when to ease up. Remember rest days are an important part of our fitness regime.

Does anyone know if the Firm classics (Vols. 2, 3, 5 & 6) will ever be released on DVD? http://www.fitnessfavorites.com/board/images/smilies/confused.gif

Soon, I hope. I tend to do Vol ! and 4 most often since they are the only two
"classics" available on DVD. I also do the parts videos Upper Body/Standing Legs which is on one DVD. My all time favorite is Volume 2.
