I know that our metabolism tends to decrease as we age, but I can't figure out why I am seeing the beginning of a "spare tire" lately. I am 45, and post-menopausal (due to surgery five years ago), which caused me to put on an automatic five pounds. I have been using the Firm workouts since 1989, and they have always kept me in great shape without dieting. Over the last few years, I have added FitPrime and Cathe F., Mindy Mylrea and other "advanced" tapes to my routine. I watch what I eat, actually my appetite is not as great as it used to be and I don't overeat. Is it necessary for me to increase the amount of exercise I do, or could it be that my metabolism has really diminished with age and menopause? I feel as if I am in pretty good shape. Thanks in advance for any information!
