I'm so glad you posted that link, Annette; I read that issue a few weeks ago and meant to post something about it as I thought there were several interesting articles in there.

I was surprised that most of the cardiologists, exercise scientists, etc. quoted believe that less is more. One of them says that while immunity goes up when you work out moderately for an hour, immune function decreases when you work out for more than 90 minutes (which is why so many marathon runners get sick after a race. When I used to run, I experienced this firsthand!).

Also interesting that the triatheletes interviewed stressed the need for balance - exercise should be a part of and enhance your life, not be your life.

And, of course, it's always validating to read all of these experts touting exactly the kind of workouts Anna has given us all of these years - perfecting technique, mixing things up, lifting weights, respecting the body's limits, and resting.

You are welcome. I didn't get a chance to read the entire magazine. I tried looking for it, I guess I'll write USN&WR for a copy. Anna of course is a prophet in all this. All these experts had to do was read her book. Annette
