Today is Sunday October 19 2008.:)
This is the start of a new thread that orginally got started in the Workout Reviews & Rotations forum under the "Original FitPrimes" thread. Please visit that thread to see how it all started.
Although we have moved locations, our intent has not change, which is to continue to inspire, motivate, and share knowledge with each other about fitness and life in general.
We are extremely fond of Anna Benson and thank her for providing us with a vehicle to do just that.
All are welcome. Please introduce yourself and let the posting begin.

Hi All. Welcome to a new week and a new thread. I truly need to clean my house today. Not that it is messy but it is clutter. When I was home visiting my mom, I really notice how nice and decluttered each room look and I said I was going to try to do that myself.
Yesterday was a long drive back home. I got home around 3pm. I actually didn't do the Saturday FIRM events because I needed to be somewhere at 8pm and I didn't want to chance getting caught in traffic. I am always glad to come back home when I have been away. Today is suppose to be a rest day but I am going to try to get in two of the WAVE workouts.
Lori, you should not have to pay for your mat. My mat came in the box with the rest of the stuff.
Diane, I definately think the live workouts our more intense. I mean they are kicking our ****s.
For the next 5 titles, I am wishing for: Vol 5 - Abs, Hip, & Thigh Workouts, Better Body & Buns, Prime Power Fat Burning, Prime Power Lower Body Shaping, and I guess Cardio Step Mix. Although Cardio Step Mix, I really don't care about but definately want Vol 5 and Better Body.

Saundra, thanks for posting the lovely pictures. When did you visit the Firm? Is the Annette in your pictures Annette B who posts on this forum?

Saundra:
Great pictures. I like your introduction to the new thread.
I like the Prime Powers too, I like the Fat burning better than the Lower Body.
Volume 5 was my introduction to the, I was doing Jane Fonda was a shock I received when I did my first Firm workout. Do you still use your VCR I am afriad mine will break one day and I won't be able to find one.
You can come clean my house next I am the queen of clutterness is that a word?
Saundra are you back to work Monday?
Lori, yes I stay up late sometimes of course I regret it the next morning, but hey at least I get to chat with you at that time.
Well no workout for me today, We were at the house today no electric yet, so it was just my normal walk back and forth to the bathroom. And I started clearing the front yard of rocks I was tired of tripping over them I know my hands are going to hurt tomarrow I should have worn gloves.

Saundra, nice intro! well said. nice to have you back.
great pictures! I didn't realize how tiny Emily was?!
I like the picture of you & Annette. & the one of you & Tina too. you all are such pretty girls & look so fit! I'm so jealous! wish I was there too. bet Diane does too. looks like you all had a blast. lots of fun I bet.
goodness, don't you think Annette looks just like Thandie Newton!? where is Miss Annette?
Diane, you didn't need to work out today. moving your rocks, are as good as weight lifting. your hands are going to be sore tomorrow, probably your back & legs too.
I ordered the Kettlebell Goddess dvd:eek: , like Saundra's on an Amy kick, I'm on a kettlebell train, & I can't get off! I can't seem to get enough of those kettlebells?
I wouldn't mind the Prime Powers either. heck, I'll be happy with whatever they are. there isn't one that I didn't like or won't use. I didn't mind the 30 min Parts workouts, they were good back to back.
I finally figured out how to take off that comment under my name! "we don't have to be brilliant all the time lol". I have no clue how that got there? seriously? but, it bugged the heck out of me? I never put it there?

Hi Ladies,
Mec, yes that is Annette B who post here on the boards.
Diane, I am not going back to work until Wednesday. Which will be here before I know it.
Lori, I say if you love Kettlebells then go for it.
I need to workout. I haven't exercise since Friday. I am having withdrawals.
I got my Wave deluxe kit in. It actually came while I was away but I just picked it up from the post office this morning.
Saundra
Lori
October 20th, 2008, 01:32 AM
Saundra, from the sounds of it, the b.u.t.t dvd from the deluxe kit is supposed to be killer.
LOL, you say go for it (more kbell dvds), my husband finds out the $ I'm spending again, he'll freak:eek:
wow, your holidays went by so fast?!
did you get any tidying up done?
how much cardio do each of you do per week? usually? & how much strength training?
Diane I
October 20th, 2008, 10:36 AM
Lori and Saundra so would you recommend the wave or not? Annette I don't remember if you said you were getting it or not.
Lori I do about an hour and a 1/2 of just pure cardio, plus what ever walking I do then its adding another 1 hour and a half.
Then what ever cardio is in the firm type workouts that I do 2 more times a week.
Today my workout was Cardio Scult with Allie. I had a harder time with this workout than I usually do. I think those 2 weeks of doing just Pink Firms lower my stamina level. I know my bottom need use of the tall step.
Diane
Lori
October 20th, 2008, 12:34 PM
Diane, I wouldn't recommend the Wave. not so far. for sure not with just the basic kit. I sure hope the deluxe kit & the extra dvd coming out in Dec, will add some credence to what I've bought. so far this is not cutting it for me. disappointing. if you think the Pinks are lowering your stamina & strength level, the Wave is even easier in my opinion.
at the price listed, I think it's overpriced. unless you really, really have to have the entire Firm collection ( I wish I didn't have this compulsion all the time, seriously).
I never got my mat today:mad: either!
Cardio Sculpt is a good workout. simple & to the point.
I'm going to do Vol 2 tomorrow.
Diane, do you do 1 & 1/2 hour cardio everyday? or total for the week? besides your walking.
Diane I
October 20th, 2008, 12:56 PM
Lori:
No I don't do a hour and 1/2 of cardio a day, maybe I should.
but my total workout time is about 4 hours a week plus about 2 hours or so of walking.
I wonder why the Firm is making their workout dvd's easier and easier, maybe they are going for the beginner exerciser.
Isn't that funny I was going to do Vol. 2 today but I wanted some leg presses.
Maybe on Thursday I will do it.

Okay. I did Speed Slimming Sculpt and Rock It Off and I didn't hate it. However, do I think it is worth the money it is priced at - NO!.
Speed Slimming Sculpt was at least 10 minute to short. I thought if it were slightly longer, it would be a perfect compliment to Total Body Toner which is 40 minutes. I did not think that Allie needed to include any ab work in the video because at least a 3rd of the system (Express Abs and Rock Solid Abs) are dedicated to core/abs work. Allie also included what I believe to be the overused side lunge in the workouts. The workout didn't seem to have enough - whatever enough is.
I liked Rock It Off better than Speed Slimming Sculpt but this could be because Allison taught this in the WAVE class I took in Columbia. My WAVE did not move as much as it did when I was in Columibia, Although I still feel like I need much work in smoothing out the rocking part. I was glad to see that Allison left out the side lunge move that seems to be appearing in all the FIRM workouts.
I did Rock It Off immediately aftr Speed Slimming Sculpt and I believe I got a decent workout combining the two but my workout was about 10 minutes to long. It was a good thing I was off today.
I thought the music quality, selection and overall sound was much better than the last group of FIRM workouts I just purchase.
So the question you asked Diane, is would I recommend you purchase it. I would probably say no but I say that not regretting that I bought it. I am lukewarm about. Some parts were really fun. Some parts I could do without. If the workouts were longer I would probalby lean toward recommending it but I, like Lori, think the system is overpriced.

Saundra:
Did you like your Wave class at the Firm weekend better? Was it longer than the dvd's?
Diane
Lori
October 20th, 2008, 02:39 PM
I'm with Saundra. lukewarm is an excellent choice of words. it's just so-so.
I wish the workouts were longer. even though I too did the 2 main workouts back to back, it just didn't feel like I got a 'real' workout.
it seems like they rushed to get this package out. like they wanted it in the market before Christmas. I'm sure they'll make a ton of money from it.
Saundra, I did not like the ab work of Allie's dvd. so uncomfortable. & I didn't have room or time to move that Wave to do that side lying ab work.
I thought the filming looked like that dream sequence look how Firm BSS3 did? sort of gauzy looking.
honestly Diane don't feel left out on this one. I know how hard it is not to buy it, especially you want to try it out for yourself, to see if you would like it. & you hear how wonderful it is from other posts. but, believe you me, it's not a great fat burner this is for sure.
Saundra, don't you feel the weights are not heavy enough at times?
crm549
October 21st, 2008, 03:54 AM
No Diane, I wouldn't say I like the live WAVE class better. All that did was prepare me for Allison's DVD. The live class was 45 minutes. There were three instructors teaching it. Allison taught the first part, then Nancy (I believe) and lastely Emily. Lori, yes sometimes I felt the weight was not heavy enough. There was one time I felt the weight was too heavy and that was on Allie's chest scoops or whatever the move was called.
I did notice in Allison's workout that her Wave and Nancy's Wave moved signficantly during that carve the wave part - the part where they have you go side to side really fast.
When I was at the FIRM trip Kirsten asked me to be a Team Lead for a CrossTrainer's board. I told her yes. It is a board for people who do not only the FIRM but other workouts as well. If you all come across and want to join please do.
Oh Lori, I totally agree about the gauzy look of the Wave DVDs. I was thinking it looked more film like than tape like.

Since they asked you to Team lead do you still have to pay for the membership?
Thanks to both of you for your info on the Wave. What are they saying on the Firm Forum?
Lori I finally did the Stink Ball workout, your right I couldn't take the smell I had to switch to a different ball during the workout. I felt like I was getting a headache. My ball didn't bounce either. I feel like I was doing the same moves from other wokrouts just with a different piece of equipment. Some of the moves reminded me of the kettleball workout.

Diane, I knew it was a bad sign when I read 2 days later when someone got their Wave they were alreading SELLING IT! on the Firm forum.
the reviews are lots of Firmies love it & the others are ok. I think more people at the Firm forum are liking it, than not. but, hey it is the Firm Believers Club right?
so I see your finding the same results, the Firm's are becoming very disappointing & I'm less enchanted as I used to be. my stinkball doesn't smell near as bad, but, it still smells. my other medicine ball never smelled like that & it has no odor at all now. I think that stinkball will stink forever:eek:
maybe we have just outgrown the Firm? they do seem to be repeating themselves. getting alittle old & tired? same old, same old?
oh, your welcome on my part. I just don't feel comfortable on recommending the Wave. not at that price. I prefer to be totally honest. I hate it when I jump on a bandwagon (done that so many times) & regret it later. I don't mind if it's just for a few bucks, but not a b.ig. purchase.
my Iron Core Way kbell dvd came today. I'll try it on Thurs. I'm wondering if it will be too tough for me? we'll see. some of the reviews I've read now, are kinda scaring me off.
did we lose Annette? & Saundra are you gonna go off & leave us too? might just be you & me Diane?
Diane I

Lori:
I was thinking you were going to off with Saundra, but I don't think you will both leave anyway. You said you were both part of the club anyway and here you are. I think Saundra actually wants us both there with her to keep her company. We keep the chat going consistantly.
I would think the Firm wouldn't want to many negative posts about they Wave especially since it just came out. Do you think they would want to here so many people not liking it. I know I wouldn't if I was just putting out a new product.
Why would someone sell their wave kit instead of sending it back to the Firm don't they have some 30 day back guarantee or something?
I think I know how to post my pictures I will try it tomarrow and see if it works.
We did get our electric turned on at the house, so things weren't hooked up right but are fixable.
It's time for me to get to sleep or I won't be able to get up.
I have good night.

No I am not going to leave you. But I know you Lori said you read my post so I wanted you to know where I was because unless you are part of the team you won't see anything I post on that board.
Diane, I didn't ask if I still have to pay I probably should. It doesn't make since to my why they sell it instead of sending it back. Unless they are in Lori's boat and it is not cost efficient.
Also I agree with Lori at that price the WAVE is not worth it. I did Rock Solid Abs last night and I am still wondering about that workout. I honestly don't think I would put these workouts in my rotation on a regular basis.
But they are okay once in awhile.
The thing is Lori. Their live classes are so much more intense that the DVDs they produce. If they would sell those type of workouts, it would be awesome.
Dont' know what happen to Annette.
Diane glad to hear you have electric.
I am checking in with Amplify Your Strength from within.

Good Morning girls!
Saundra, what fun, I posted over there a few times. I'm 'irolklori' over there.
I hope Annette is alright. I'm starting to worry.
Saundra, I'm with you. my Wave is going to be used rarely in my rotation. not to keep knocking it...but, it's not a favorite, obviously. but, I will say, that I do believe it's still worth using once in awhile. I'm sure it's doing 'something' beneficial to the body? even though I don't feel any DOMS the next day?
I'm sure the classes are way too tough for the masses of people the Firm is selling their dvds to now. I believe the Firm will keep pumping out these mediocre beginner/intermediate dvds to satisfy most home exercisers?
it seems to be working for them, or they wouldn't keep doing it right?
regardless, being the Firm addict that I am. I know I will keep buying them. I think I'm just real cranky about the Wave, because I was expecting more? unfortunately it didn't happen. to be totally honest, it's the first time it didn't. when everyone complained about BSS1, 2 & 3 I was wondering why? guess, there's a first for everyone.
I too, found selling the Wave strange? another point I was going to say, is that seemed awfully hasty as well. I still think the Wave may be something that does grow on you with time? it very well can be one of those types of workouts, where the more you do them, the more you can get out of them also?
Saundra, did you do the b.u.t.t dvd yet from the deluxe kit?
I still haven't got my FLIPPIN' mat yet!!!! or my deluxe kit for that matter!
Saundra, on your blog from the Firm trip? what were the 3 dvds Emily gave you all in the goodie bags? curious.
crm549
October 22nd, 2008, 01:02 AM
She gave us (everyone got the same DVDs)
Tina's Sculpting Ball - not the power ball
Allison's Sculpt and Tone Pilates
Allie's Stability Ball Workout.
I have already given away Allie Stability Ball workout but if you or Diane want the other two you can have them. These are the same workouts they have given out the previous years so I have multiple copies. Actually I think I have another copy of the stability ball workout as well.
Lori, I didn't know you were Ironklori - cool to know that. And the problem is I don't think I am going to be doing the wave workouts very often so they won't be able to grow on me. I am going to try to do Rock Solid Buns when I get home tonight. It depends on what time I get home.

Saundra, that's nice of you to offer. I have those titles already also. I like all 3 of those ones. they are great add ons. but, while were on the subject, if you would like the Kettlenetics dvds: kbell elements & flow motion basics (these are just intro's for learning the moves) they would give you a taste of what Kettlenetics is all about. & the 2 dvds from the deluxe kit which are: kb flowmotion dance (too slow for my liking) (you had mentioned you might like the Kettlenetics for the dance aspect of it?) & kb total body blast (LOL, too fast for me), I could send them out to you.
that was nice to get 3 dvds still. too bad you already had them though. but, nice all the same.
I'm glad you set up something 'new' at the clubhouse. they need some new life over there. & your just the right person to get it all going in the right direction.
let us know what the Wave's Rock Solid Buns is like when you get a chance to do it.

ok, but, I don't want these dvds to really make up your mind on the Kettlenetics. IMO they are only a slight indication of the 2 workouts that I kept. & that's not including the kb total body blast & kb flowmotion dance that was in the deluxe kit.
as I stated before, I really didn't like these. & if I had done them first I really don't think my opinion would be the same for Kettlenetics.
but, they will give you an idea of what Michelle Khai is like. the set & other exercisers. modifications, music & such. a taste of it all.
the kbells from the Kettlenetics too, are way more comfortable than the Firm kbell, I said this before, I know. but, so you know it's so much easier to move around in the workouts.
the 2 Kettlenetics dvds that I did keep are nice because they are longer workouts too.
I really, really like Kettlenetics & still highly recommend the basic kit. I see totalfitnessdvds.com is taking preorders. it will be nice for you to try these before they are released from totalfitnessdvds.
you may just very well like the 2 dvds from the deluxe kit. I hope so.
ok, I'll try my best to get them out this evening:)
I was going to ask you before if you wanted them. but sometimes, that offends some people? I'm glad you brought up the Firm titles today:p
I hope that Annette didn't get offended in any kind of way? I really miss her posts.

Rock Solid Buns
First let me say, I don’t typically like working out with bands, tubes, or cords unless I am using them to stretch the body. Using these items for strength I find them cumbersome. Rock Solid Buns did not change that, but other than that I really like the workout and I think this is my favorite of the 4 main workouts. When I do this DVD again, I will probably try to do the workout with ankle weights particularly with the floor work. I really liked the warm up and wanted more reps in the standing side adduction and abduction moves. The workout moved quickly. Allison used one set of heavy weights for plies, dips, & lunges. There wasn’t much rocking in this DVD as the other Wave DVDs.
Lori, this my objective review. I still do see me adding it very often in my rotation, but to be fair, I have so many workout that many workouts do not get added into the rotation.

hmm, I'm not a lover of the bands either. I was hoping it was one that didn't use the band. oh well. thanks for the review.
can you believe my darn mat never came today still? If I don't get it by next Wed, I'm going to have to call customer service I think. drats!
still waiting for the Wave deluxe kit.
I know what you mean with having too many videos for them to make it all in your rotation. this is my problem too.
especially since I've added the treadmill more into my rotation.
it got better when I downsized to just Firm. then I've slowly added Sleek Essentials, Jari Love & now I've realized kbells are sneaking into the works.
could have worse addictions right?
gee, I'm feeling really sad about Annette. I see she's posting at VF. I went back & looked at things I've said, can't see anything ignorant. but, you never know.
I hope she just got sick of posting here?
see, I told you I am a overly sensitive worrier:o

Hi Saundra and Lori
I am usually not offended when someone offers something, I do the same thing.
Saundra thanks for offering I don't have Allie's or Allison's. I do have Tina's
How many Team members do have? Do you have to monitor them also?
I didn't like the rubberbands either I found them uncomfortable and pulling at my skin. I don't mind the tubes with the handles to much I can live with those. And the bands I always feel like I am losing my grip.
I keep forgetting to ask, do you ladies like the standing ab work? I feel like it's a waste of time, I don't notice any change in my abs at all and feeling it the next day nothing at all.
Do you ladies do the bonus ab work on the Stink ball DVd I actually like this add on.
Saundra I think we all have workouts that we don't use, I know I do I use them when I have had enough of the Firm or just not up to doing Cathe.
Lori how did Vol. 2 come out I haven't checked mine yet.
I think my late nights are catching up with me, I think my brain is fried today.

Hi Saundra and Lori
Do you ladies do the bonus ab work on the Stink ball DVd I actually like this add on.
Diane
snicker-snicker, snort-snort...for some immature reason, stinkball really cracks me up.
Diane, I don't like the bonus work, I never use them. I'll check it out though next time, because you said it was good.
I don't do alot of ab work. my torso is really long & skinny looking. not my problem area. I'm a real pear shape. so I don't spend alot of time working my abs.
when I lose weight, it's always my upper body. of course not where I want it to go.
standing ab work, now that you mention it, it does seem easier. but, I will say this Diane. on the Kettlenetics dvd she does this move the 'halo' (can't remember if the Firm dvd had it or not) & it is standing & really fries your core!
I think it's really nice when someone offers something, but, I know some people take it the wrong way? sometimes being online things don't come across how you want it to.
besides I think good karma comes to you for doing little acts of kindness. pay it forward kind of thing.
I was thinking the same thing Diane...Saundra your going be a busy girl with the forums!
Diane, you get to bed early! how's the renovations coming along? still shooting for Christmas completion date?
yes!!! the mat is making me loopy! crazy-mad! no tracking # available ever to Canada from Firm Direct. I just have this gut feeling that the Wave deluxe kit will come before the mat. the mat is really peeing me off!
yes, Vol 2 was alot of fun Diane. I was really silly looking following along I'm sure. but, darn it, I was having a blast with it. some parts I had to modify, & I was alittle slow on parts, but, it was easy to catch up. I absolutely loved it. but, I'm sure glad I was in the privacy of my own home!
today I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I'm sure I'll have a good sleep tonite.
I ran on the treadmill for 3 & 1/2 miles straight. I'm so proud of myself. I'm definitely getting better on the jogging on the treadmill. b.i.g accomplishment for me. for having to interval usually.
had to cut the grass outside. we've been having such crazy warm weather still. can't believe I'm still having to mow the lawn in late October?
Diane, ain't nothing wrong with a 45 minute walk.

I don't have to monitor what each member does but I am trying to be responsive to their post. Pretty soon my time will be limited because I am finally moving into a different position at work and won't have time to troll the boards like I do now.
Diane and Lori, it might be me why Annette hasn't posted. When I saw her in Columbia she like I should be careful what I say because Anna reads the boards. And I was like I hope so -this is her forum but even so I don't think I said anything that can be construed as mean spirited. Well except my comment about Gaiam, but sorry I hate that opening. The same opening is on the Wave workouts too and it annoys me. Anyway....
Diane, most standing ab work, i don't care for. I have found one or two I thought okay but don't remember what they are now. Which means I probably don't do them very much. Also, I am not a fan of the bonus workouts. Rarely do I get to them. Maybe one day I will take all the bonus workouts and combine them into one workout. Although that will mean a lot of swapping out of disc.
Lori, I don't envy you. I really try to not to order from Firmdirect if possible although I know with the wave it wasn't. It amazes me that 7 or 8 years after BSS1, they are STILL having these types of problems. It's insane.
I am checking in with Amy Bento's Rumble. Love this workout.

oh dear. now I don't want to post like Annette guys!? for fear of saying something wrong. I never want to be unable to buy Anna's stuff. I would absolutely die! I love Anna's dvds more than anyone's. I don't ever want to upset or offend her.
maybe we should say our goodbyes & just send the periodic email to say hi to each other & how ya doing?

Saundra:
Are you happy with the position change? We will miss you when you are not here. How are your classes going? You must not have a lot of time in the day.
You have a lot of different workouts some I never heard of, how do you know which ones to buy?
Lori and Saundra I usually don't do the bonus sections either, but the ball workout I felt didn't had enough ab work for me.
Lori your lucky not having to worry about ab work I have a friend like that but she has to worry about her b.utt. The waist on her pants is always to ***.We are at a stand still with the house but I am hoping things will start moving I will keep you posted.
Do you work full time or part time? I never asked do you have any kids?
I have a son he is not a kid anymore he is going to be 27 this November. Still lives at home I think he is waiting for us to move so he can have this apartment.
I am going to do Vol. 2 today I haven't done this one for a while.

Diane, it is too early to say whether or not I will like the new position. But I am not learning anything in my current position so I am looking forward to the challenge. All classes are going well thus far. And I have too many workouts. Some I buy because they are a certain brand, ie. FIRM, Cathe. Some I buy on other recommendation. Some I buy because I am looking for a type of workout such as dance based or kickboxing - I then go to Collage or TotalFitnessDVDs to see if they have a clip. If I like the clip and the price is reasonable, I will buy it.
Then I get mad at myself because I never know where I am going to put it in the rotation. Have fun with Volume 2.
Lori, I am going to assume you are joking.

Lori, I am going to assume you are joking.
Saundra
well, not really. I'm scared:confused: now.
ok, I'm over it:D
I really don't have to worry seriously. in all seriousness, I can rival any other Anna fan out there! ain't nobody love Anna more than I do! & I would fight till the bitter end, if I had to, if anybody bad mouthed an Anna workout!
this morning I tried the Iron Core Way. I really did NOT like it, at all. I couldn't complete it. I ended up doing a Transfirmer (Aerobic Body Shaping) with all of Saundra's talk of the Transfirmer. figured I'd drag the beast out into my den.
Iron Core Way is so boring. I'm sorry, but, it had no appeal whatsoever to me.
even though I spent some more wasted $ on a dvd. I'm ok with that. a lesson learned.
I am going to stick with my plan of just ordering Anna's re-releases & that's it!
or anything new Anna sells.
save myself some money. at least I know that what I order I WILL love. & that is a guarantee.
Diane, I am retired now. no children. never wanted any. (I know this isn't very politically correct, but, just never wanted kids).
your comment about your son "waiting", that was funny:D
I'm exactly like your friend, I have a horrible time finding dress pants or skirts.
I'm ok now, with the style of low rise jeans. b.i.g help there. I usually have to get everything altered at the seamstress. I'm built like a wasp:(
have fun with Vol2!!!!!

Hi Saundra and Lori:
Did you ladies have Janet's vol 2 on VHS, I used to think this workout was one of the easier original Firm workouts. Well it was tough for me today my arms are getting sore as we speak. I need to get back on track and stay away from those Pink Firms for a while or at least not bunch them together.
Lori I wouldn't worry I will send you my e-mail if it bothers you, Don't you get a warning first or something.
Lori are you trying to catch up with Saundra with that running?
Saundra I just love your name by the way, when do you change postions at work or did you already?
I usually stick with the same kind of workouts, but I sometimes I feel just so burned out doing the samething.
Do you ladies have a bosu?
Diane
crm549
October 23rd, 2008, 03:54 AM
Diane, I do have a bosu but it doesn't get much use. I am glad Amy Bento will be do a Bosu workout next year. I have about 6 Bosu workouts - just haven't gotten to them yet.
Well I am am technically already in the my new position. However, I need to get a badge so I can move freely, not sure when that is going to happen. My work hours are going to change - instead of working from 730 to 330. I will be working from 11am to 7pm. This is great. No more getting up at 4am to workout.
Diane, Saundra is short for Cassaundra. That is what the C stands for in CRM549. I always thought Vol 2 and Vol 3 were the hardest and did you want Allie and Allison's workouts? If so I will send them to you.
Lori, sorry to hear about Iron Core Way. That's a bummer.
Saundra
Lori
October 23rd, 2008, 04:33 AM
Diane, I did have a bosu. that was one of things I let go when I got the treadmill. this was another peice of equipment that I didn't use a whole lot. how about you?
ya, you have to keep crosstraining for sure. don't want to get burned out. sometimes it's just good to rest altogether Diane.
I don't believe Anna would have any problems with our discussions personally.
Anna, is a pioneer when it comes to fitness training. I believe Anna is very 'on top' of what everyone is 'doing' & discussing' when it comes to fitness.
I mean SHE is the innovator of fitness workouts, IMO.
& I agree with Saundra, we don't say anything mean spirited or disgusting.
I think Anna would not want us not to talk. I think that would be the last thing she'd want. she just seems like the type of woman to me, that would enjoy our discussions on fitness.
besides Anna lets us know what she is up to currently.
not just on her dvds/workouts. but, I have read she powerwalks with a weighted vest & she was also the one who introduced me to the rebounder.
& look with the wedge.
yes, I'm making great strides on my jogging! thanks for asking. no where near Saundra's times, but, I'm so proud of myself with my performance. I'm getting better & better every week.
yesterday I jogged for 3 & 1/2 miles straight. then powerwalked for 1/2 mile & jogged another 10 minutes to make an hour. gradually getting closer to my 5 mile jog continuously. I want to be able to go straight through without having to interval. getting there.
Saundra, & Cassaundra are both pretty names.
Saundra, I'm glad I didn't order both the Iron Core Ways. (I'm learning:p )
I'll try it again at another date. I hate that. but, like I said, it makes me realize to be happy with what I got.
Diane, I'm gonna have to side with Saundra, when I had Vol 2 on vhs, I couldn't even make it through! this was when I first started working out & I was no where near in shape as I am now. I remember all the Original Firm Classics were way too advanced for me. I thought I'd never would be able to do them. especially Susan Harris's leg work! OMG!
yes, my arms were sore on both Vol 2 & 3 after. nice feeling though isn't it?
your right, they do feel like you DID/HAD a workout compared to the Pinks.
I'm going to go on a Fitprime, Kick**** rotation. I need some cheering up or something pretty to do. these always seem to lift my spirits & make me smile some. haven't done them in awhile. I'll finish off the Transfirmer dvds first.
no sign of that mat:mad:
Diane, how about you, do you work outside of the home?
Diane I
October 23rd, 2008, 09:39 AM
Saundra:
I will Pm you with my address thanks so much. 11to 7 isn't bad I would miss having the afternoon though. I go through phases where I will do all Fitprime, Firm, Cathe I will mix in to my rotation for the week just becasue she just as cardio workouts. I haven't used the Bosu for a while the muscles in my feet would really get a workout.
Lori I have never got into running it just wasn't something I was interested in. I would do intervals on the treadmill but that would be about it.
Oh by the way I looked at the difference in our ages I just had to smile, my birthday is July 16th of the same year as yours .
I think I mentioned before I watch my niece and nephew, I have watched kids off and on since my son was little. I did work at a elementary school for 2 years and I also worked at jenny craig I liked both but always went back to watching kids. I didn't like the hours at JC though it was while my son was in school and I noticed a difference in his grades so I eventually did quit.
Have fun with the Kickb.utt

October 23rd, 2008, 02:14 PM
oh ya, that's right, you did tell us you looked after your neice & nephew. I forgot. I've been so forgetful lately? I'm sorry.
I'm not a lover of the jogging, but I keep doing it, because it's really changed my lower body. the results are what keeps me going. not to mention my lungs & heart too.
hey, just a month & one day difference in our birthdays? no wonder we get along so well.
oh & aren't you the clever one with your Kickb.utt, Miss Smartypants:p (I liked that).
looking after kids is hard work. my neices burn me out when they stay over sometimes for weekends. they can be exhausting.

Good morning ladies. Today is a rest day for me.
Diane, I got your pm and will try to get these out to you today.
Lori, I agree that kids can be hard work. When I went to see my mom in Houston I met several not all my Step Nieces and Nephews. There was a lot of them.
I am not a fan of running either. I do it because of the results. But I am done with my running until April. Maybe I will invest in another treadmill.
Have a great day ladies.

Saundra, I read at the Believer's club on your page where you were introducing yourself & you wrote what videos you liked & did & that you were in the military & you did "PT". what is "PT"?
I'm so tired this morning. I did not want to get up. not looking forward to the jogging on the treadmill. I'll need another coffee for sure.

Hi Lori:
I didn't want to get up either I could have used another hour.
I am doing some treadmill and yoga today not running though, my body is feeling tired after yesterdays workout. Do you think it's a age think forgetting I forget to do the stupidest things.
Saundra will you keep up the running on the treadmill? It was cold here this morning I felt like I needed a coat instead of a jacket.
Thanks for the dvd's.
Lori are you sure you don't want the Indeprime dvd. I didn't give it to my sister. She is funny when you talk about those kind of things.

Diane, your so sweet. (I don't have a wedge & I'm swear I'm not buying anymore equipment!). but, thanks again for the offer.
I've been reading the forgetfulness is really common in perimenopause? I dunno?
the lack of sleep for me is not helping.
my husband lost his wallet (again) it was in the laundry hamper. the other time it was wedged under the bed. does that mean my perimenopause is cantagious?
I've been stalling for getting on the treadmill. dreadmill.
2 coffee's later & surfing the net. better get my act together.
talk to you in awhile.

October 24th, 2008, 02:43 AM
Add me to the not wanting to get up club. And to make matters worse I have to come in tomorrow.
Lori, PT is what we call Physical Training. Twice a year we had a PT test where we had to do so many puhups and situps in 2 minutes and run 1 1/2 miles in or swim 500 yards in a certain time. They also test for flexbility. We had to touch our toes without bending our knees. And yes people actually failed that portion of the test.
Diane, when I had a treadmill I used to run on it. I started running outside because the treadmill broke.
Saundra
Lori
October 24th, 2008, 05:51 AM
Saundra, when there was someone who wasn't up to par (failed the fitness tests), was it like what is depicted in the movies where they get yelled at or ridiculed? what really happens?
I thought the T might stand for training. couldn't figure out the P. thought maybe private.
S.W.A.T. team officers do the same thing twice a year too (physical fitness tests), don't they? come to think of it, I bet fireman would too?
I ran straight 4 miles at level 5 on the treadmill. my face was as red as tomato I'm sure. I'm thinking maybe by next Friday I can do 5 miles?
maybe because it's so darn dark out early in the mornings, we want to keep sleeping. that sucks you can't sleep in tomorrow Saundra. I am. I hope my dog doesn't wake me up early. I haven't slept in for a really long time.

And oh - you just get put on remedial where you have to go and work out 3 times a week.

Saundra, the Gin Miller preorders aren't supposed to ship until Oct 27.
I'll post as soon as I get it.
I should get it fairly quickly. Gin's stuff comes to me pretty fast, in the past.
I think Diane preordered these too (both titles)? she'll get them before me.
I just preordered the kbell dvd.
I think the payoff to stay later is better than having to work tomorrow;)

My forgetfullness is really stupid, I hope I done offend but I have to double check to make sure I flush, I swear I go into the bathroom sometime I can't believe I forgot.
Lori what does level 5 mean? Is it like the Miles per hour you run?
Saundra and Lori do either of you knit, My Grandmother taught me when I was little.
Saundra thanks I will let you know when I receive them. You plan out your roatation for the month I usually do what I feel like for the day.

Hi y'all, have not abandoned! My laptop for some reason will not connect to the wireless. And I had to go through a lot of old emails to find my password. I have read all the posts though! So I am using the computer upstairs.
Saundra, thanks for posting the pictures. If y'all ever get a chance to meet Saundra, she is a peach! I enjoy meeting the women who come to visit!
It has been a strange week for me. I guess because both schools lost on Saturday by close margins. I did get a chance to workout on Tuesday and Thursday of this week. I did Baron's Core Yoga and Firm Bust and ****, Thursday I did Eionn Finn's Quickie Yoga and Firm Maximum Body Sculpting.
On top of it all, Dave is home, so it has been a transition week. I am so accustomed to reading the forums, checkin eBay, working out, eating late and then to bed.
Andrew's Team, The Titans lost to the Blythewood Bengals on Wednesday but the boys played well. Their team was the only one to score a touchdown, all the other teams do not score against them.
Send good vibes my way, that I can get it in to gear next week! >>>>>>>>>>>>>

Do any of you know anything about computers, I have Msn and everytime aIdelete e-mail it will delete for a couple of seconds then end up back in my e-mail box.

I.
Anyway....
Saundra
Saundra, maybe I should have unpacked that statement. I know you would not or anyone else for that matter say anything mean spirited. But reading other boards lately about Firm Instructors, who work so hard to provide workout dvds to do, makes me a little sad, actually. And it is usually over trival things, like a certain instructor has *** boobs.
I am glad we have a good group, to keep things positive and uplifting. It is so hard these days to find such a great group of women to workout with that is not belittling each other. Instead we inspire confidence and trust as women on our fitness journey.

Annette. Glad you are back with us and I am so glad I miss that post you and Diane are talking about.
Usually from the Title of the Thread I can tell it is something I want to stay away from, I don't have time for that nonsense.
I often hear people say or write "Well if they don't want to be judge, they shouldn't be in videos." And that's fine, but judge the performance and leave the personal stuff out of it.
Sorry that your teams lost Annette and definately sending good vibes your way.
Diane, I agree. and at the risk of sounding rude. I sometimes think people need to just shut up. On anther topic - I have hotmail.com but I don't have a problem of my emails reappearing after I delete them. My issue seems to be I am permanently deleting emails with emptying my deleted folders.
That is something you can try if you know that will not need the email again. Delete it out of the deleted folders. How long has this been going on? If it just started to happen you may want to let msn know because it could be there problem.
I thought it was pretty cool that I was able to logon to the site with my Iphone. I was on the train when I did that.

I'm jumping up & down & clapping!!! I'm so happy!
Annette is here! Annette is back!!!
it's so strange? I swear I had a hinky feeling logging on.
I thought again how much I missed Annette. & my eyes couldn't believe it!
you know, I kept telling you all, it just wasn't like Annette.
I knew it wasn't her style to just up & leave like that.
I'm so happy. you really were missed around here Annette. we've become Anna's Sisterhood for sure.
I missed that post too. like Saundra said, I don't have time for that either. too catty for me. my mom & dad have always taught me the old, if you don't have nothing nice to say, don't say it. I agree, you can give an opinion on the actual workout, but, I'm not into bashing people personally.
& I have to disagree with their attitude of not being afraid to say what they want. I think it really shows a person's insecurity if they need to talk like that.
I'm glad I didn't see it. I agree, a waste of my time.
I've noticed it's usually Firm instructors, Cathe & Jari who really get it. pure jealousy.
I'm so excited, I received Anna's post that the Tortoise & the Hare have been shipped. I know I'm repeating myself, but, I just love the Tortoise. that one is way up there on my favorite list. I'm such a Tracie lover.
Saundra, you bad, bad girl! the dvds!! lol...plus didn't you just preorder Cathe's too??!! OMG
I'm glad we don't live too close, girlfriend...I think you would be a bad influence on me?!
well you'll probably end up with my Iron Core Way too, because I really don't think it will pass the test next time I try it.
remember when you get the Kettlenetics, I really want to stress that those dvds in no way reflect the basic kits dvds. I see amazon has them up for preorders too.
Diane, my grandma tried to teach me to knit when I was young. disaster. my mom tried to teach me to sew too. another failure.
yes, level 5 is 5 miles per hour.
I was scared to get on the scale this morning.
I ate like a horse yesterday. huge amount of food. binge amounts.
plesantly surprised only 1/2 lb gained. I think that hard run saved me? or the other way around, I think it was culprit to my hunger too?
do any of you have a bodyfat % scale?
Saundra, what other Gin dvds did you buy?
Diane, my rotation is jog 3 days a week for an hour. & any choice of 3 Firm (or the other few strength dvds that I own, that aren't Firm related) a week. & when I say Firm, I mean all of Anna's Firm titles. including Fitprimes, Kick****s & new Firm's, Pinks.
Annette, you made my day & hope we hear from you again more next week.
have a great weekend girls!

I still say it could be $ spent on something else (& something that isn't so good for your soul) that's my logic & I'm sticking to it!
gang, post your wish lists for any Pinks. I might have some here that I didn't like.
Saundra, I was real slow getting going yesterday? but, when I did, I had one heck of a workout! I thought it was going to be one of those slacking off workouts or a real struggle. but, I pushed it.
my doggie let me sleep in till 8! this was a rarity. we slept for over 10 hours. I'll probably pay for it tonite. won't be able to fall asleep from too much sleep now. I am feeling very well rested though.
I did Ultimate Calorie Blaster from the Transfirmer set. It's such a great workout. Stephanie is a really good cuer in that one. I love all the step aerobics in this dvd. I hadn't done it in quite some time & really had a blast. felt like a million bucks after. I love how Allie & Pam seem to be enjoying themselves in this dvd too. Their smiles seem so geniune!

HI y'all, thanks for the applause :D...and happy dance. In spite of not workin' out as hard as I do, I did manage to lose one pound! YES!
It was a bye week for both Clemson and USC. The new interm coach at Clemson is Dabo Swinney.
Yeh Saundra, that is a tough rotation!
I did go garage "saling" this weekend. Got some great items, like nice ottoman and small end table. I also had regrets this weekend, that I didn't get those Fontini Angles still new and in the package for 3.00. Did go back and get one though. And 2 wrought iron tables. Did get one to go in the bathroom with a neat ceramic candle holder bowl.
I did get a little bit of exercise in yesterday at the Parade of Homes. I have the perfect house picked out for us....it has a workout room (with rubber floor, mirrors, refrigerator), and a spa retreat room for our massages! Not to mention, the wine cellar, home theater (with tiers and recliner seats), pool table/billards room. The house had the usual kitchen, bedroom etc....I am terrible allergeric to anythiing that resembles "domestication" ie kitchens :D
Then I walked through the "village" of the subdivision which looked like Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives. I looked in the houses, etc. Some were done and some were not. I enjoyed my day. Got neat decorating ideas. It was a great day by MYSELF! YES!
Hope y'all have a great day and week!

Saundra, I'm envious of your ability to do tough choreography. Rob Glick is so way out of my league.

ok, as I speculated earlier:( I received my Wave deluxe kit today. no mat!!!!
I just phoned customer service & they are sending a replacement mat for the mat I never received??!! (wonder how long that will take)
I also received my Kettlebell Goddess dvd.
I'm going to try the Wave Rock Solid Buns & a kbell workout to make up an hour tomorrow.

Lori, great job on the 5 miles. :) That is excellent
Normally Rob Glick is challenging but I thought most of this Choreagraphy in Star Trainers Cardio was repetitive. I did like his Star Trainers Strength workout even though most of the moves were functional fitness.
It seems as if everyone is moving towards functional fitness. I am getting tired of it.
Diane where are you?

October 27th, 2008, 07:35 AM
I hope I can maintain the 5 miles now. thanks Saundra. (I'm serious when I say it's thanks to you, because you really did give me that extra push to kick it up a notch).
(now I can't stop eating?!) I've been starving all day. (avoiding the Halloween candy like the plague)
it was really hard to get to that 5 mile mark. I have yet to have this 'runner's high" that everyone talks about?!
now were missing Diane. hope everythings alright. this is not like Diane to not say anything?
Saundra, how's the new job going so far?
I previewed kbell Goddess dvd. Looks really, really good. I think I might actually like this one.
speaking of functional fitness..did you ever try Tracie Longs dvds (TLT)? I think Annette has tried them, if I remember correctly from VF?

October 27th, 2008, 09:07 AM
Hi Ladies:
Thanks for missing me, it gives me a nice mushy feeling.
Wow Lori 5 miles an hour good for you, you must have been flying.
I have the TLT's, I don't do them that often. It's uusally when I get bored with other workouts that I will grap one of these.
How was your Deluxe kit?
Saundra Rob Glick is a hit or miss with me, I love the Bosu workout that I have, but the Step workout I feel like I have two left feet, I don't remember which one. The first time I saw him he reminded me of Greg Brady.
I am happy if I fit Cathe in once a week never mind 3 times.
How is the job going?
Annette I was waiting for the Garage Sale Talk, Do you watch Desperate Housewives, I am not sure of this season so far. You keep saying you haven't worked out didn't you go to the Firm weekend? 1 pound it's better than I have been doing.
Well since the power is on at our house it's later and later that my husband wants to leave and that goes for the cat to, she gets a little fresh when I go to pick her up, she is always trying to get back into the house.
We don't have telephone/internet yet or I would bring my laptop and chat with you ladies all day.
I haven't workout since last week I had to bring my niece to an appointment this morning so my workout got scratched for today.
Lori Stephanie's Transfirmer workout for some reason those tall step climbs just bug me in this one.
Saundra I would love to brose through your workout library one day.
When did you ladies recieve your e-mail confirmations for Tortoise and Hare?
Annette are you a haggler at these garage sales?
As for spending all my weekend time with my hubby I am so ready for a break,
just doing laundry on a Saturday morning would be fine with me, or just watching T.V. all day would be great too. I feel like I need some personal space. I am sure as more things get done I won't mind spending time at the house. It drives me nuts when he has a problem with something for instance he had his electric wires marked wrong so he went through each one, and right a way I said it will probably be the hall shadaleir (how ever its spelt) wire, you know it ended up being the one I picked I just love to rubbing it in. He spent an hour testing and trying lights to get to the one I picked.
I am still having trouble with that rottin junk food, its driving me nuts. I am so ready to just go cold turkey. This up and down with weight is not making me feel good about myself. I used up all my Pre-pay tickets at Weight watchers and I am not sure what I want to do. I am thinking I might be worse without the weigh in and then to spend the 152.00 for another 14 weeks just hurts. I don't do the monthly pass I don't want it on my credit card each month.

Hi Ladies,
The job is crazy. I have so much too learn, but that isn't what bugs me. It that constant shifting of schedule and they expecting you to work at last minute notice that irritates me.
I have all 4 of the TLT and those I like a lot. I think the TLTs are very original.
Diane, I received my email on the 25th. And I can sympathize (sp?) with your husband. Those thing are wired in series and they can be a pain to track down. Last year I had an outlet that was bad and it knock out everything that followed it. I refused to call an electrician. It took me all day to trace that out.
Lori you are welcome and I think what you are doing is great because I honestly wouldn't want to run 5 miles. I really don't like running but I like the results you get from it and too I can really zone out too when I run. But I think 3.2 miles is my max.
Diane, I will put my workout library online and give you access to it. I probalby won't get to do it until the weekend though. I will let you know when I have posted it.

oh good Diane, I was wondering where you were.
don't be so hard on yourself Diane. you have to eat, & sometimes it's gonna be junk. can't be perfect. I don't blame you about not wanting to use the credit card though.
I don't know about Saundra or Annette, but, I speak for myself here....there are lots of times when I just feel fat. I don't know if it's that time of the month or when I have been eating not so great (guilt maybe) or maybe looking at too many fashion magazines or tv with all these gorgeous looking people??
& it doesn't matter if it's 2, 3 or 5 lbs more or less?
I think we all have ups & downs. peaks of feeling crummy & feeling good?
& on the spending too much time with my husband. don't even go there! we are like Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne sometimes. I will be the first to admit, I love my space.
I've become obsessed with the running! LOL. I told you all I'm competive. (don't know if this is a good or bad trait)...but, I'm all about seeing if I CAN DO IT?
Saundra, your so right, nothing has changed my lower body especially than running on that darn treadmill.
I saw some silly bootcamp (local fit tv show here) where the trainer was making the guinea pig jog 5 miles....which then of course lead me to my obsession. good grief!
my husband thinks I'm nuts. (which I probably am! gonna have a flippin' heartache on that treadmill!) LOL
Diane, did you see the picture of Saundra's dvds? she's got loads!
oh, see now I like the tall box climbs...makes my b.u.t.t. so sore & I know I did something.
Rob Glick reminds me of the hockey player Chris Chelios?

Good morning.
When I have been eating poorly, like lately, I feel fat and sluggish. And that is even when I am exercising I feel that way.
Checking in with Total Sculpt plus Abs. I don't like the warmup in this workout. And the cardio is very simple. Out of all the workouts in the BSS2 series this was my least favorite. The sculpting is decent though.
It is raining and cold outside today. Days like these I wish I could stay in bed.

well, if it makes you all feel any better. at 10 o'clock last nite, I got into the halloween candy:eek: & it wasn't pretty. sure I looked like a wild dingo hovering over the empty candy wrappers.
I'm blaming it ALL on that 5 mile jaunt.
today is another day though right?
Saundra, your right. the warm up is weird on that workout. I thought it was just me being my usually clumsyness. I just did that one not too long ago. It is a fairly decent workout other than the warm up.
we are still having unseasonally warm weather here. yesterday & today are very summer like. 20 Celcius. the forecast this week is no rain until the end of the week. but, still calling for warm temperatures. who says there's no global warming?
I ain't complaining, I hate the cold.
Saundra, I feel for ya, on the new job asking you to stay. geesh, I know when your clock watchin' & all geared up to go soon. that sucks.

Hi y'all,
Lori great job on running! I have always made excuses not to run. Yet I know it is good for me. I think it is mental. I ran when I was in college and anexoria. I really need to get over it.
Don't feel rained on, there are times when I feel fat as well. Especially when I see my cellulite on my legs. UGH! And my mommy pouch, do we have to have constant reminders of what children do to our figures. You know that is a great guilt trip for my children :D...and DAve for Christmas. "Honey I just need to get a 25lb weight and....." Oh, the weights on Craigslist feel through. Even though I am tempted to get a set of 35lbs.
Diane, glad electricity came back on. We had low water pressure last week. Then we received a phone call to boil water AFTER I had already filled our water bottles for the game.
Saundra, I haven't done Glick yet. He seems interesting though. Best of luck on your new job. Are you official a confirmed vidiot!?
I am thinkin' about getting a part time job. Which means I reallllly have to get organized. DAve is home for awhile, he can take care of the kids. Of course, they do know how to use a toaster and microwave oven. :D
No, I haven't had a great workout at all last week. My friend in Missouri also had a weird week. Weird weeks I can handle, it is the weeks when I know I should workout but don't.
I do have the TLT's, they are my once in a blue moon, Sunday, don't feel like working out workouts. My fav is the ball with Susan.
It has gotten cold here in the morning as well. Warmer during the day.
No I don't haggle at garage sales. I kinda walk away from it, my logic is I don't need it If I have to haggle. If someone offers, that is a whoooole different story :D.
Stephanie's Ulimate Calorie is a toughie....if my behind ain't lifted after that one, nothing else will do it! That is tough as Tough Tape 1, Volume 3 with Sandhel with leg presses.
I did see on eBay a 4 inch wooden step, but I was outbidded. I don't have that size, and I need to replace my other wooden step. I did pick up Firm collectiables on eBay including a Journal, key chain, etc. I want my collection to go to the museum. I thought about archieves for some of this material.
I heard through Firm Yaya's, Anna is shipping Tortoise and Hare! That is super Anna did a great job with the re-leases. I have Volume 6 at home. I wonder what the next 5 Titles are.
Well let me get motivated to get motivated.....

checking in with the Wave Rock Solid Buns & the kbell Goddess Athena section: RSB was ok. the first band workout that I actually can see doing again. (now I have some use for all these bands besides the Firm Pilates dvds).
I really LIKED ALOT the Goddess dvd. very informative. easy to follow. TOUGH!
it has 2 & 1/2 hours on it, so I'll be using it again Thur & Sat.
worth the $ & so far recommending this one.
good gosh Annette, don't scare me with the College running & anorexia. ewwww. how did you find the strength to run?
I'm so excited about Anna's announcement on the new bunch!

Hi All
Taking a mini break from work.
Diane, now its called Firm Cardio I think. or maybe its FIRM Strength. And it is on DVD. The original titles I thought were much better Strong Heart and Strong Body. I hate DVD workout name changes.
Annette, definately let Dave take care of the kids. And good luck with the part time job. Anna sent out email last week that she was shipping Tortoise and Hare. Annette next time I come to Columbia, I will bring you my 4in wooden step (although one of the screws is missing) but I honestly don't use it anymore. I do still used the my 14in box though.
Lori, I am jealous of your weather. I actually think we missed Fall here in Maryland. Hopefully it will get back to normal seasonal temperatures soon.

Hi Saundra:
I thought only Pam's Variety Strong Body workout was on DVD, when did they do Heidi's?
Oh Lori it was cold here today I think it was 39 degrees when I got home. I am not ready for winter coats yet I barely finished putting away my shorts.
So how are you liking the Wave?
Lori I know you are far away but would you ever go to a Firm weekend?
I know you said you don't like to travel that much but you never know.
Lori we stopped giving out Halloween candy last year, I am not usually home until later and my husband doesn't want to give it out so we just stopped. Plus we weren't getting as much kids as we used to.
Annette i thought about getting a part time job also but it just doesn't fit into my schedule. I could use the extra money though. What kind of Job are you looking for?
I should stop talking about food my poor eating must be rubbing off on you all.
Any one get the Tortoise and Hare yet?

Hi y'all,
Lori, it is BRRRRR rabbit here! Sorry no pun intended especially since The Hare is being released!
Saundra, you are too kind about the box!
Diane, I thought your snack situation. I try and get healthy snacks such as fruit, Red Hot Blues which are my fav instead of the bad snacks. Even though I do every once in awhile crave Lay's chips and M&Ms. What has helped with my sweet tooth is cinammon pills that I picked up from Dollar General as well as eating more protein.
I keep an apple or crackers in the car to tie me over until dinner. Speakin' of which DAve did cook, now if I can get him to add fruits and veggies to dinner, we will have it made. He is a taters and meat man for sure.
A friend of mine suggested adding proboitics to my diet, so I have been Fiber bars with proboitics in it. They are a little on the sweet side but I drink with my coffee in the morning. Also she suggested cod liver oil (flashbacks of childhood) and aloe vera juice 2-4 oz mixed with juice. I mix it either with cranberry or orange juice.
I mix up Firm Cardio and Strength as well. I just know that Heidi has a tough leg section and Pam has a tough upper body/arm section. Those are good and I like them in the Parts series as well.
I guess I need to get motivated to get motivated! :D

this morning when I let the dog out (WHO LET THE DOGS OUT, WHOOT, WHOOT?!) seriously, it was like a warm summer's day. kind of scarey, really?
that is cold already for my liking Diane! I forgot you have degrees. oops sorry, it was/is around 70 degrees here. almost double what you have Diane.
it will get cold enough here too soon for me, I know it. wish it would stay warm like this all winter!
I hate coats, scarves, toques, mittens:mad:
give me barefeet, shorts & a t-shirt & I'm happpy.
my binge the other night on the Halloween candy cured any, & I mean ANY sweet cravings I had. I'm over it. (for the time being anyhow)
if we didn't give out Halloween candy, I can imagine our house would be toilet papered & egged pretty badly:(
it's always a bad nite for my poor beloved dog. he is so terrified of the firecrackers & fireworks that go on here endlessly past midnight:( :(
I actually dread Halloween now.
try coconut oil. do some google-ing or surf the web. I swear by it. but, you have to be very careful to buy the Extra Virgin Coconut Oil or Virgin Coconut Oil. not the hydronated kind. (that's bad for the heart) make sure it hasn't been refined, bleached in any way.
I use it in almost all my cooking & on my skin & hair. I spread it on my toast. replaced margarine & b.u.t.ter. It's quite expensive but goes a long way actually. You have to get it from a health food store or online.
Diane, I am so sore on my inner thighs this morning. I think it was from the Wave's Rock Solid Bottom? Saundra, did you have this the next day after doing that workout? I'm wondering if it's from that dvd or from the kbell Goddess workout? maybe it's from the combination of doing both those workouts back to back yesterday?
gone to give my best at 5 mile run on the dreadmill.
now that I did it once, got to make sure I can do it again?
bug you all later, busy day here for me. got to get crackin'.

Annette, I used to keep Weight Watcher snack bars on hand but they stop making my favorite kind. I really need to clean up my eating. After Halloween I am going to try limiting sweets until I get to Thanksgiving day.
Lori, I think I had slight DOMS from Rock Solid Buns. and you are making me want to get another treadmill.
Diane both Strong Body and Strong Heart came out at the same time but as Firm Strength and Firm Cardio. I don't give out Halloween candy either. Although maybe this year I will as it is on a Friday night. I am hoping I don't have to work this weekend.

It is the best for keeping the weight off for me anyhow.

my weight is low, I don't want to lose anymore weight.
I guess I will know when to change.

October 29th, 2008, 10:52 AM
Hi y'all,
A little bit warmer here today.
Lori, you will never know....the exercise fairies might come kidnap! LOL (promise not a stalker or anything!)
I forgot there was something I meant to mention about food. Mike something or another that I sign up for newsletter wrote about food not too long ago. Dang nabbit!
I had a manual treadmill but sold it. Of course I got it from a little ole man who was sellin' for his daughter. I wouldn't mind gettin' an electric treadmill. Lori, keep it up with the 5 miles. There is another woman on my the VF Forum that trains on the treadmill and now is doin' a marathon. You never can tell!
My neighbor turned me on to using grapeseed oil. It is much lighter than olive oil and you can cook with it. It is cheaper at TJMaxx or Marshalls than the health food store or grocery store. Thanks for the idea about the coconut oil.
I have tried the WW's bars. The kids enjoy eating the Fiber One bars with chocolate. Especially Katie.
I did workout today, did Baron's Ultimate Challenge 3 and Tough Tape 2. I tell ya what, I was huffin' and puffin' after those leg presses!
Oh, I can't recall if I told y'all about the Parade of Homes...and my dream home. It only had 6000 sq feet, complete with a wine cellar, billards/pool room, a "man's space", home theater (with tiered seats and recliners), but the best part was the workout room with mirrors (a refrig in the room) and a sauna and massage room! It had 6 bedrooms, so y'all can visit.
Talk about the winning lottery ticket!!! :D

Hi ladies:
Annette what are cinnamon pills or Red Hot Blues I never heard of either.
I have been having Luna Bars but I am not so crazy about them some of them have a funny taste. I know its not a perfect choice but I have been having raisins also grapes and apples when I am not sick of them. The weight Watchers bars depending on which one I have sometimes feel like empty calories to me or I should say not satisfying. I am also finding out myself if I start eating something full of sugar its like I turn into a crazy person and end up eating things that I normally wouldn't have.
I have never tried different oils for the most part I use extra v.irgin olive oil.
Annette the house we are building 3500 sqaure feet not including the basement and I just look at sometimes and wonder what in the world am I going to do with all this room. Right now my apartment is so full of clutter. I just hate cleaning it, vacuuming is the worst having to move stuff out of the way.
Saundra should I mention now that I got my treadmill fix I now have 2 treadmills, I like the Nordic Track better not so much impact on the joints. But I do like the features of the reebok. Thanks for the info on the Variety workouts I didn't realize they both came out on dvd all that name change just drives me crazy I almost bought 2 of the same workouts a couple of times.
Lori I will check into those oils I would have never thought to try coconut oil, my friend had me try the flax seed oil I didn't care for the taste, I just stuck to the capsuls.
I swear even though I have been working out consistantly I feel out of shape doing these original Firms, Feeling a little sluggish during certain moves.
Your are just a running junkey aren't you, your energy level must be way up there. Do you feel you need to eat more food when you run or just different types.
Isn't the Firm weekend just for Firm believers? A couple of months ago I would have said no I wouldn't go, but if I had the opportunity to meet all of you I certainly would. I know for me it would just be a long drive.
Lori it's supposed to be warmer tomarrow 50 degrees.
I absolutely hate wearing shoes, I drive my hubby nuts when I don't where shoes when I garden.
Annette how many kids do you have?
Did I ask you all what DOM"S are?
Oh my workout today was the Firm's Tough Cardio Mix,( Saundra is this one on DVD?) and a section of Cathe's Ab hits
Saundra how is your Firm Team going?

Hi y'all,
DOMS-delayed onset muscle soreness.
2 children, 12-Andrew, 14-Katie, 58-Dave :D
I am not much of a shoe wearer either. I much rather go barefoot or wear socks when it is cold. My parents fussed at me all the time. I even wear flip flops and socks, sometimes.
We have a tradition in our neighborhood, "Toasting of the Trees" where we go to each persons house and have a drink. I think we should start with our tradition, visiting everyone to workout. That would be a great road trip!! :D
I know your house is beautiful. 3500 sq feet, should house all of us!!
Thanks for the suggestion with Tough Cardio Mix, I haven't done that one in ages!
After I read the post about coconut oil, I got an email letter from Mike in re to c.o. and read some literature about it.
Now I recall, eat a little bit of carbs at night, such such as pretzels to help you sleep better. I think that was from Abs Diet for Women.
I have to post Mike's newsletter, later. Got get motivated to get motiviated.

good morning, good morning.
there's a really good book called, "The Cocnut Oil Miracle" by Bruce Fife, C.N., N.D.
very informative. lots of answers.
way back in the day. I learned alot about oils back in my schools of cooking training. gosh you got me thinking at least 30 years ago now! (boy time flies by)
Diane, yes, I am finding that I have to eat more when I've increased on the jogging. it really burns calories. I've probably increased my calorie intake by 250, maybe 300.
I was worried in the past week & a half, on what the scale was going to say, but, it has stayed very low all week.
your doing the right when eating something else with those bars.
they are just mostly filled with sugar & chemicals. no matter if their the so-called 'healthy picks'. read the ingredients!? can you pronounce even half of the ingredients?
eat whole food. more satisfying hunger wise. half a peanut b.utter & jam sandwich on a grainy bread will satisfy you alot longer than one of those bars.
those bars will make you hungry a hour after eating them. sugar highs, than crash.
your right, they are empty calories. no real nutritional value.
I don't know, but, I think anyone is welcome to go on a Firm trip? Annette, Saundra? do you have to be a Firm Believer? good question Diane.
Annette, please tell those kidnapping "fitness fairies" to hurry up & get here!
that is one heck of a dream home. I can picture it vividly.

My sweater is more of a Sweater Coat and the color is a soft Pink, I am using mohair this time. I am hoping I will still see the pattern.

I am just try to stay on top of things that is why I emailed it out to you right away because if I didn't I would forget and other things would come up etc etc etc
Lori I like my workouts right around the 50 to 55 minute mark. If I workout goes pass 65 minutes, I start to get cranky.
I left work at 530 an didn't get home until 830. Commuting can be such a pain. I hope I don't have to go to work on Saturday.
I got my Tortoise and Hare DVDs.:) I also got the Gin Miller DVDs.:) I also order some Patrick Goudeau and received those as well.:)
I bought a bracelet, necklace, and earring set from HSN. They also came today but it was broke.

Saundra, that sucks. ( are you getting a replacement)? which item was broken?
I hate that.
the traffic is so horrible now, isn't it?
your commute makes it for an extra long day.
I know sometimes it helps to unwind some though, by the time you get home, your not quite as wound up. eases up the day's tension. sort of? yes?
I've had some long commutes home in the past job history.
Saundra, what kind of work do you do?
I used to work out for a 90 minutes, 6 days a week. weighed more than I do now.
took awhile to figure out to train smarter & diet was key to reach my goals.
If I get to a hour & 15, 20 minutes I start to feel I've pushed it. today was a perfect example. I did the Goddess upper & lower body workouts, & felt I still had some gas left. I knew when I got done with Allie's warm up, that maybe I shouldn't have. I knew the Power Sculpt was only 20 minutes & hung in there. but, after supper now, I'm feeling sore biceps already.
I'm envious of you getting your dvds so quickly. I'm still waiting.
my last vent on you guys with my mat....but, when I did Rock Solid Buns, you know that part Saundra where you do the side tap lunges? it sucked doing that with my yoga mat! It was very difficult! even though my yoga mat was folded in half it was too long. there was no way to better modify or improvise.
I hope I get Gin's kbell workout tomorrow, so I can do it Friday?
any sign of Anna's?
Diane I
October 30th, 2008, 01:22 PM
Lori:
I didn't get Anna's yet either. I always get Gin's workouts pretty fast.
I previewed a little of Gin's kettlebell workout the kettlebell looks heavier than the one uses in the Firm workout. I think I will try it first with the Firm one before I look for a heavier bell.
Saundra do you do a lot of Cathe premixes? I would like to see other workouts with premixes, not the silly Firms ones that are short in time already.
I am so tired of driving home my ride is only 20 minutes long but if I hit traffic it can be longer or one this one road I swear some people don't know the rules of the road but that is a whole other story from which I will stay away from.
Well I am off to bed.
Any Halloween plans?

Happy Halloween Ladies.
Lori, I am in the IT field. I am a System Adminstrator. It was my bracelet that was broke. It was on a flimsy brand and all the pearls were loose in the bag. I got my Anna workouts.
Diane, I won't go there. I tend to get road rage and start cursing out other drivers. Although yesterday the reason for the delay were the Trains.
I like Cathe premixes especially for her long workouts. I would often choose the express option. But Cathe express options are like 55 minutes. Her Timesaver workouts are at least 35 minutes. I am going to use my 5lb KB with that workout too.
Off to work ladies.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that your typical pancakes are
certainly NOT the type of food you want to eat if your goal is fat loss or
staying lean.
However, for years, there's been a basic type of modified pancake recipe
floating around in bodybuilding circles that is a healthier version (although
not my favorite)...
Basically, the bodybuilder version is as simple as using a carton of egg whites
in a blender, adding some dry oatmeal and vanilla whey protein (and a few other
minor ingredients), and then cooking them up as "protein pancakes".
I'll be honest with you... this bodybuilding pancake recipe tastes more like
sweetened eggs than it does like pancakes.
So what I've done is come up with my own variation of healthier pancakes that
actually TASTES like pancakes. Of course, we know that most pre-made pancake dry
mixes are not the healthiest option. However, they can be more convenient for
most people than trying to make pancakes from scratch.
Here's what you can do to make much healthier pancakes:
1. Take only 1/3 of the quantity of pancake mix that the box calls for. So if
the box says to use 1 cup of dry pancake mix, just use 1/3 cup instead. This
way, you're greatly reducing the amount of refined wheat flour and sugar that
are in these mixes by only using 1/3 of the amount recommended.
I know I'm usually pretty strict with ruling out ALL refined wheat flours, but
sometimes just reducing the quantity and substituting the remainder with
healthier ingredients is the best option for something like this.
2. For the remaining 2/3 of the dry mix, substitute in a mixture of equal parts
oat bran, rice bran, and whey protein. You can find oat bran at most grocery
stores, and rice bran at health food stores. Try using a little cinnamon too if
you like the taste (it also boosts the antioxidant content).
3. Use whole eggs instead of egg whites and use 1 extra egg than what the recipe
calls for to increase the protein and healthy fats content.
If you missed my previous article about whole eggs vs egg whites, you can see
that here:
http://www.truthaboutabs.com/whole-eggs-or-egg-whites.html
4. After mixing in the milk called for on the box, whisk the mixture in a bowl.
Now you're ready to pour the healthier pancakes into the pan. Don't forget to
top them with some blueberries or other berries for some extra taste and
healthful benefits.
5. The best oil to use in the pan for cooking is virgin coconut oil. I use
virgin coconut oil for most of my cooking as it's one of the healthiest options.
It's a much more stable oil for cooking so it's not prone to the oxidation and
free radical production that typical vegetable oils are prone to.
You can get virgin coconut oil at - http://nature.wildfamilynaturals.com
Also, be sure to check out their coconut flour, as it's a great super-high fiber
alternate flour that can be used in baking (note that if you use coconut flour,
you should mix it with another type of flour to balance the moisture content as
coconut flour tends to soak up more moisture than other flours).
If you're confused about which cooking oils are healthy and which are not, this
article of mine below clears that up:
http://www.truthaboutabs.com/unhealthy-vs-healthy-cooking-oils.html
Again, the trick to this recipe is using only 1/3 of the dry pancake mix (since
that's the least healthy part of this recipe) and the other 2/3 of the dry
materials are the oat bran, rice bran, and whey protein to boost the fiber and
protein content of the pancakes.
I only do pancakes on occasion as they are a nice treat, but at least with this
recipe, you have yourself a much healthier version of pancakes that are quite
high in fiber and much higher in protein and healthy fats than your typical
pancake recipe... but they still taste like pancakes and are delicious in my
opinion!
And do yourself a favor and please do not ruin this meal by dousing it with your
typical fake maple syrup, which is usually all high fructose corn syrup!
Instead, a much healthier option is to simply top it with berries or other cut
fruit instead of syrup.
Enjoy!

Hi y'all,
-thanks for book recommendation, I have to check online with library.
-glad your jelly went great.
-knitting, wow, many talents we have.
-Dave and Andrew are having a boys night out....to the USC/TN game. It will be a cold Boy's night out. Katie and I are goin' shoppin'...she needs jeans and a formal gown for her Citivians convention in Charleston. Of course I have already circled 3-4 garage sales in the morning :D
-3:30 is the Clemson game and 7:00 USC/TN....need I say more?
-the traffic in Cola Town is horrible, I believe, especially since I have been here most of my life. Oh goodness gracious, don't let it rain, sleet or snow. And if it is a home game for USC and/or Clemson, traffic is worse. It takes me about 5-10 minutes just to get on the main road. I wish I could live downtown in the Shandon/Five Points area. I love that part of town. Plus they have great restaurants, what more can a woman want!
When my parents moved back to Cola we lived in 5 Points. I would love to get an older house and renovate. I love older houses with history. It is my historian in me.
I did manage to workout last night! Did Baron's Core yoga. Dave was upstairs, so I couldn't workout, with the vcr. I really need to find a vcr for downstairs. Anyway, I did Kelsie's Killer Kettlebell Workout, the ENTIRE workout. I am glad I like Kelsie, but she really tried to kill me :D. It was a great workout. I enjoy Kelsie in the older Fitprimes.
The only thing I am afraid of getting a used a vcr, that it might break my oop/rare Firms and few others that I have on vhs.
Glad y'all got the Tort/Hare, clips look really great on YouTube. What will Anna do next? Whatever she does, I know it will be awesome.
Dave got trick or treat candy. I am not sure if my neighbors are havin' a cookout or not. Andrew said something or another about trick or treating and then going to the high school football game. I just go with the flow sometimes.
I do have pretty good neighbors....my next door neighbor is a Lutheran Pastor. The first time Andrew saw him in his collar he said, "momma, I didn't know Father Bob was a priest!" You can "see" his little wheels turnin' in his head!
My other neighbor and I swap workout videos, she does The Firm only. Her husband does the Firm as well. We had serious party animals at one time but they moved away, but we still manage to have prompt to, especially around football season!
Happy Halloween!

Annette, the other day when Diane asked how many kids you have. & you mentioned 2, plus Dave:D I noticed Dave is quite abit older than you??
being nosey here...how did you meet?
Saundra, that makes me mad about that bracelet. whoever shipped it, either didn't care & shipped it broken or never checked before shipping it out. HSN is good though for replacing, no?
Diane, my plans are giving out candy tonite. (which will interfere with the hockey game on tv).....my DH doesn't think we will get many kids this year, because we finally got the rain they were predicting.

Annette, have fun watching football. And I know my neighbors well enough to say hi. Although the people to the right of me have invited over a couple of times but that was when my work schedule was upside down ( I used to work the midnight shift) and I would never go because I was usually sleeping.
Lori, yes they will replace it but I think I am just going to send it back. The necklace is hard for me to put on (probably because my nails have gotten so long) but it is taking me way to long to clip the two ends of the thing together. It is pretty though.

will have to wait until Mon.
will do Transfirmer Upper & Lower Body dvds tomorrow.
Saundra, I love pearls. always so classy. their so in fashion again right now too.
too bad they didn't have those screw clasps. easier with long nails. did you try putting it on with the clasp in the front? somehow that's always easier for me looking in the mirror?
have a safe & Happy Halloween! & hope you don't have to work tomorrow Saundra.
don't forget we get an extra hour of sleep on Sunday too!

Hi Ladies:
Annette thanks for the newsletter. Does your library have the books online to see if they have it. I mostly go online to renew I never thought to look for a certain book. I would watch out for the Vcr's I had one that I haven't used for years and one of mine broke and I went to use it abd it didn't work. I don't know what happened to it, it was just on ashelf not even plugged in.
Have fun with the football.
Am I the only one not watching sports on TV I used to watch baseball, but I didn't seem to have the time this year. I used to like watching the ice skating.
Lori is your husband around the same age as you? Mine is just a couple of months older than me.
Lori do you use your Transfirmmer in place of the Firm box or whatever they called the Blue one with the legs. I do but I don't find it as easy to move around as the other one.
Saundra I did the pilates workout you sent to me today and I don't know if it was all the talk about not liking the use of the band but in this one I found it annoying. But as for the workout I didn't mind it.
Do you have to pay for the shipping to send the necklace back or will they remburse you? It is so annoying getting broken things.
I did one of Lori's deals today putting 2 workouts together for 55 minutes.
Oh I did get my Tortoise and Hare this afternoon.
We are going to buy tubs for the house today or tomarrow, one is just a normal tub the other we will probably get a jacuzzi.
Diane

Diane, my husband is 17 days younger than me. He always bugs me that I'm the older woman:rolleyes:
I've known him since I was 13. we went to school together.
how about you & yours?
I don't own the 'death box' (the blue & black-legged) anymore. that thing was pretty scarey:eek:
felt like you were really high. I'm not very good at heights. & those legs were so wobbly. I can imagine if you were tall? or quite heavy?
I've heard some girls who weighed around 115lbs breaking the fannylifter.
I would not like to have been in the middle of a tallstep climb on that 'deathbox' when it decided to crack or break!?
& it was so hard to lift those legs up & down.
I do like the workouts though from that set.
there are so many things I don't let my DH go near because he breaks or busts them! ie:bands, resistance cords, etc., etc. He thinks he's trying to be funny & goes all He-Man with my girly stuff & ends up busting something!
the Wave, alot of girls complained their feet were too b.i.g for it. they had trouble with the fannylifter & the Wave is supposed to be worse for them.
I agree the Transfirmer is very cumbersome to move around. It's hard to pick up & shift either way. lengthwise or sideways. I think you probably burn extra calories shifting that sucker around?!
jacuzzi, that sounds so nice for the sore muscles. we had to get a new tap last weekend for our ensuite & I could not believe the price of them!!! holy smokes! $$$$
looking forward to reading all your reviews on the new dvds.

I prefer the blue box to the Transfirmer. It is easier to move around than the transfirmer.
Diane, I have to pay to ship it back. Which sucks when it is there fault. I probably could call and complain to CS but I shop there so much it and considering that, there are too many items that arrived broke or unusable.
And Lori yes I tried to turn the necklace around to get it own but no go. I will try again tomorrow when I hopefully will have more patience
Diane I like the lower body work with the band, it was the upper body band work I didn't like. Normally I watch Figure Skating this time a year. I taped Skate America last week but haven't watch it yet. This week or next week is Skate Canada.
Lori I have Gin's Med Ball workout up on the 5th . I was in Target and saw a 7lb KB for $30.00 so I bought it. I think it is very expensive. I am still trying to figure out why these things cost so much.
Jacuzi - aaahhhh sounds nice.

Hi Lori:
My husband and I actually went to the same high school, but we meet while working at a nursing home in the kitchen. We were both 17 and that was that.
Lori I never had any problem with the box just sliding all over the place.
One thing I don't have to worry about is *** feet, I wear a 6 or 6 1/2. The only problem is my niece taking my shoes or if I buy new shoes she wants to wear them first. She is 7 years old and already has almost the same size foot that I do. I told her next year she won't be able to wear my shoes, she told my to buy ***ger ones.
Did you get many trick or treaters?
Saundra I will have to check out Target for a heavier Kettlebell, do you know if Walmart sells them?
Your right about the upper body with the band I get nothing but awkwardness
during the upright rows and skin pulls during the overhead triceps.
What workout shoes do you ladies wear I used to like Avia the best, but haven't liked them lately. I have some Ryka but I feel there is not enough cushion between me and the floor during stepworkouts. Forget New Balance they are just to roomy for me. Reebok I haven't found any that I like lately.
Any plans for the weekend?
Diane
Lori
November 1st, 2008, 02:50 AM
they don't call it HELL-nite for nothing!!!
the firecrackers went on well past 3:30 a.m.!
so glad that Halloween is over!
I hardly got any sleep! my dog was terrified. hate Halloween.
Diane, we only had 13 kids. now we're stuck with a lot of candy! my DH is going to bring it to his work.
I got canoes for feet! my hands are long & creepy like an alien. I swear. seriously, I have b.i.g feet for my height. 8 & 1/2's!
I don't like New Balance either. my feet are too narrow for them. I do like Reebok, Nike usually. I bought some Saucony & really like them.
I have only had one pair of Avia, quite some time ago. but, I remember liking them.
Saundra, your right the blue box is way easier to move around.
that is a decent price actually for a kbell. they are more expensive than a regular dumbbell. I went & bought 2 more kbells (another 4 & 8 lb's) because on the Goddess dvd she uses 2. (just matched up my kettlenetics set, I already have). really hard, something different from my other kbell dvds, using 2 kbells.
Saundra, I can't remember now which fitness magazine I just read? I think it was 'Fitness' & they had Kristi Yamaguchi saying that she regularly uses the bands & does alot of Pilates.
I received my Supreme Pilates ripped from the shopping channel. wasn't impressed. It definitely was not worth it for me to send back. I used black electrician's tape on the tear (on the mat) & it urked me everytime I had to look at it.
same goes for my Urban Rebounder. not quite as b.i.g of a rip in the mat. but, regardless, flawed.
Diane, no plans here. how about you? did you go look for bathtubs yet?
I could use the jacuzzi. my glutes are killing me now! every day, I have some muscle group sore?!
Saundra, did you get called in to work?
crm549
November 1st, 2008, 03:44 AM
Lori, No I didn't get called in. I may get to have the weekend to myself. I have so much to do that it is hard to know where to start.
Diane, I did see KBells at Wal-Mart but they were heavier like 10lbs and above. I will more than likely be getting Kelsie 10Kb workout whenever that comes out and I am sure the FIRM is going to make us buy the 10kb so I didn't want to get one.
At target, they had a 7lb, 10lb, 15 and 20lb bells. When I saw the 7lb bell I grabbed it and then hesitated when I saw the price and then grabbed it again.
Lori, the cost of these things is probably why I won't be investing to heavily into the KBell workouts.
I am eagerly awaiting Anna's annoucement of the next FIRMs to be release on DVD.
Checking in with Express Option for Cathe's Muscle Max.
Saundra
Lori
November 1st, 2008, 07:18 AM
thinking exactly along the same lines of you Saundra.
I agree 10lb kbell with the Firm, that's a given. (having to buy a kit)
I would like to have gotten the Kettlebell Way dvd & this Lauren Brooks kbell dvd, that everyone is talking about. but there is no way I will pay the prices they are asking. ridiculous IMO. especially when the economy is so bad.
I simply can't afford $40 for a 40 minute dvd!?!? ( & that is not including shipping)
I too, would rather invest my $ in Anna's re-releases.
besides, the 8lb kbell are definitely heavy enough for me. especially being new to kbell workouts. I don't like going to heavy anyhow, even on my Firm or Jari Love dvds.
Saundra, just relax & enjoy your free time, you earned it;)
I did the Jiggle Free Arms & Buns dvds. was fun. I love the music on Stephanie's dvd. & the step sections.

Hi y'all, It is 1/2 time of the GT/FSU-GT on top, GA/FL-Fl on top and Clemson/Boston College. Clemson is winning 14-0!!!!! YES!!
Anyway, did my garage sale thing, didn't get anything. Powered shop with Katie. We to 2 thrift stores and Goodwill. Katie found 2 pairs of jeans for 5.00 a piece and a cute dress to take w/her the Civitians in Charleston for 7.00 at Goodwill. I found 2 books at Goodwill. Went to Old Navy, I refused to pay 35.00 for a pair of jeans. Went to TJ Maxx and found a pair of jeans for me 5.00. Size 6. The only thing is they are a little large in the waist, but fit in the thighs.
I did go into Tar-jee, but didn't see anything I just have to have besides their popcorn and coke combo. That is a treat for me.
Hope y'all are doin' well! The boys are on the way to the USC/TN game.
We didn't have to many trick or treaters last night. Churches around here had parties and high school football games. I had a beer with my neighbors and chatted.
Anyway...off to watch my games! I am flippin' channels with headphones on. My worse nightmare has come true. We paid for premium channels and I can't get the Clemson game on ESPNU. What is the world comin' too!?

Annette, sounds like your having a good day!
Diane, I meant to ask, "do you still have/use the blue Firm step?"
Diane I
November 1st, 2008, 12:42 PM
Hi Lori:
No I don't use the blue box anymore, my niece would use it for a slide or as a table she doesn't mind it.
We did go to Home Depot yesterday, but we have to go back tomarrow what a pain in the neck one of the vanities we bought was broken on one side and the tub we bought for the hall bath was scratched on the side. We will probably just return the tub it was kind of cheappy anyway, but I wanted it for the depth. And the vanity we will have to exchange.
I never bought Saucony before how are they?
Late night noise just drives me nuts around here it's usually music and its not the kids playing music either. One of those times I need to hold my tongue or I will get myself in trouble. During the summer we have trouble with the fire crackers. Can you feel my impatience to move?
Saundra how was your day off? If you are really looking for something to do you can help me clean my house as I have said before I just HATE cleaning.
Annette how were your games? Does your daughter still like going shopping with you? In your are does your library have book sales? Sometime they have some pretty good prices. Its usually a good time for me to donate books that I have read or have no intention of reading.
Lori do you change you clocks tonight or you keep them the same?
No workout for me today, raking leaves and walking back and forth to the bathroom.
Diane
Lori
November 1st, 2008, 12:58 PM
Diane, we must be long lost sisters or something?
I raked leaves today too.
yes, we change our clocks back tonite too. I need the extra hour of sleep, believe me.
our neighbour's are the worse for late nite partying & very loud music. & go figure, he's a cop?! their son is the holy terror of our neighbourhood too. (he delightfully has been lighting off firecrackers all bloody day today) (there's been no frickin' relief from them darn firecrackers)
what I don't like most, is their guests always leaving drunk & driving?!
this is the first time I've bought Saucony & I really, really like them. they fit really nice. I definitely recommend trying a pair, next time your in need.
that's too bad you have to go back & exchange the vanity, & bring the tub back. nothing seems to go smoothly anymore does it?

I have no patience for anyone who drinks and drives. I went through a mess with my father.
When my son started driving thats one of the things that I said to him if you are picked up for drunk driving don't call me. I told him to stay where he was or call me for a ride but do not drive. Oh and wear you seat belt which did end up saving his life when he was 19 his friend fell asleep while driving and had a roll over. His friend didn't have on his seat belt and he did die. I will never for get that phone call from my son that night. One of the first things he said to me when I saw him was I saved his life that night.

Lori, I did Michelle Khai KB elements this morning. I realized when I was doing the workout than the handle on her KB is much wider than the handle on the FIRM 5lb kb. There is less room to grab. I think that is why I am scraping my knuckles. On the 7lb KB I bought from Target, the handle was much wider on that one as well.
Diane and Lori, I will call myself your cousin because I mowed the grass yesterday. I don't have too many leaves yet and I am not looking forward to when they all start to fall. It is such a pain to get them up. Although the last two years, the neighborhood kids came by and raked them up for 3 bucks each.
Diane, I attempting to clean my own home. My office is still a mess. I did manage to get all my clothes on hangers. The clothes had previously took over the spare bedroom. Now I can see the bed and the iron board.
I am also trying to learn Amy Bento's Advance Step Challenge 3. I think I got thee first combo down. I went to go watch the preview moves section - where she breaks down some of the more difficult moves and that section would play in the dVD player. I tried a different dVD player and did get it to play but of course that DVD player isn't in my workout room.
I will try to check in later.

LOL, Cousin Saundra...we did some more yard work here today too. in the pouring rain, we managed to rake more leaves & hacked some branches off our cherry tree. that is a good deal, $3 bargain! wish those kids came around here.
Diane, I have no tolerance of drinking & driving either. I'm glad your son listened to you. & we must really be long lost sisters, because it sounds like we had the same dad?
Saundra, it sounds like you got alot done this weekend.
I never had a problem with the kbell from the Firm kit. I just thought that was how it was. then I realized after with Kettlenetics, what everyone was talking about. I'm wondering the next time I get around to Kelsie's workout what it will be like, when I try it again with her kbell?
the other kbell's are so much more comfortable, hey?
Saundra, that Amy Step Challenge would make me go crazy! I admire your will & power to keep trying. I wish I had your patience.

Hi y'all,
I have a pair of Saucony, they are very comfortable to walk in. They are a little large to workout in. I also wear New Balance 767's for workouts.
Yep Clemson won! And GT/FSU game almost gave me a heart attack. I am convinced that men and the good die young by watchin' college football!
Sorry to hear about the returns. I know that is a pain in the rear end!
I just couldn't get into Amy's step. I tried and even got the choregraphy notes, and still can't do it. I think Amy adds without a breakdown like Cathe. Once I did the older Cathe workouts, I can get Cathe's step. My Amy's are for sale on Firm yayas.
Hopefully can get a workout in today....

I think if you tried a number styles from each company: Nike, New Balance, Reebok, etc., etc., you'd probably could find a shoe you liked in each company?
oh, that's right Saundra, you had a change in your shifts. Saundra, what was some of reasons your not caring for the Star Trainers?

Lori:
I am with you I couldn't get up this morning but then I didn't sleep weel either.
Cousin Saundra I would be very comfotable going to your house your bedroom sounds just like mine. We actually don't have that many leaves left. I think it's past peak time.
By the way does anyone know which Firm's are not on DVD? With the Firm renaming older workouts I always get confused anyway.
Annette how long are football games? I think Cathe's step workouts are less dancey and it's easy to motify the spins. Gin Miller's I find easy to follow also unless its one of her advanced workouts.
I am checking in with a 45 minute walk and Tough Tape.

Lori, Mostly I think the cardio is repetitive. I felt that way in both Rob's and Gays workout. I liked both strength workouts better than the cardio sets but the strength workout weren't unique and I can get the same tape of workout from a FIRM tape.
Diane, to my knowledge the FIRMS that are not on DVD are:
Vol 5 Abs Hip Thigh Workout
Prime Power Fat Burning
Prime Power Lower Body Shaping
FIRM Basics Fat Burning
FIRM Basics Ab Hip Buns Workout
FIRM Basics Sculpting with Weights
Better Body & Buns
Maxium Cardio
Tough Tape
Cardio Core 1
Cardio Core 2
Step Cardio Mix
Floor Legs
5 Day Stretch
More 5 Day Abs
I think that's it.

I didn't sleep very well last nite either. but, that's nothing new.

I still never received any dvds or my mat yet. but, I did receive someone else's Firm Deluxe Kit!? seriously.

Lori I am hoping the wind changes direction and plows the leaves down the hill, last year I didn't have to rake at all. I don't have to work tomarrow so I am hoping I can just relax and take mine time doing whatever. So now what do you do with the deluxe kit I wouldn't spend the money to send it back.
Thanks for the info Saundra. So there are really to many left to do. I did order some dvd's from one of the sites you recomended. Just getting some Firms that I didn't have on DVD I think I only paid $6.99 for firm Cardio.

Hi y'all, good news, did manage to workout with Firm Super Sculpting. I felt those 20lbs on the last set of squats. I just realized, that because they way Anna choregraph that one, I could start light and go heavy. She does I believe 2 sets of exercises. Bad news I didn't get a chance to do yoga. Katie had her Civitians induction tonight.
Gotta find a vcr to go downstairs. MEN! I think I have been booted out. Then he wants me to cook and eat after working out, MEN! :D
Last time I racked leaves is when I was pregant with Katie. Dave made me do it and I gave birth the next day. YEP MEN again :D LOL
Saundra I think that is correct on the vhs Firms. I have been collecting 2 copies on vhs because I am afraid they will break. Every once in a blue moon I'll do the Ballroom, Primes and Stretch.
Diane, typically a game lasts about an hour and 1/2. (4) 15 minute quarters with 10 minute intermission. But if it is on TV, games have lasted 3 hours even with the hurry up play clock! Strange isn't it. College Football Bowl Week does me in, I try and stay and watch some of it.
Lori, I didn't sleep that well myself, then again I don't sleep well since goin' through "mean o pause"! If I stay up late, around 10:30 I sleep better. I know how important sleep is especially when working out.
Hope y'all have a great day tomorrow!

Annette, the only one that I was afraid of breaking was Vol 3 Aerobic Interval Training. Even though it still played, my VHS copy was kind of crushed in.
Diane, FIRM Cardio is a good one. Heidi is an excellent instructor.
Lori, I hope you had a better night's sleep. That really sucks about the FIRMDirect. It's like that don't care. They don't take the time to make it right. I think it is a management problem. Because they have consistently been poor in this area that type of mentality has to start at the top.
I am checking in with Complete Aerobic & Weight Training. Love this workout. One of my all time favorite FIRMs.

Hello, hello to everyone.
Diane, I have to take the deluxe kit ( a small box packaged) to a mailbox. I attached a note saying it was delivered to the wrong address. the person's address is only about 17 kilometers away.
I have to go out today anyhow. my food processor croaked & I also need a new can opener.
we live on a cul de sac, so everyone's leaves b.low of course to the end of the cul de sac into my yard.
only once has one of the other neighbours (actually their kid) offered to help.
oh well, it IS good exercise.
Annette, I used to sleep like a rock. these last 3 or 4 years, I've noticed the 'change', that's for sure.
sometimes I can be so dead tired & fall asleep then wake up & can't get back to sleep. I seem like a cat or a darn dog?! I HEAR everything now? my hearing is so accute it's unbelievable. I swear I can hear a leaf falling on the ground outside now.
Annette, what is "Civitians"?
Saundra, your so right about Firm direct. I knew when I saw the box right away, that it was the Wave deluxe kit again. I thought they sent that again to me instead of the mat. Then I read it was some poor soul (obviously waiting for it). I just can't believe how their track record continues on this horrible reputation of poor customer service? I understand that mistakes happen, & things don't always go so smoothly, but this is not an occassional error? rather bizarre, really. they must have chimpanzee's working in their shipping department. I swear!
what did you decide with your HSN necklace?
Diane, have a nice day off.
did you get your bathtubs & vanity sorted out, over the weekend?
my plans are to do the last segment on my kbell Goddess dvd & the Transfirmer dvd with Pam. can't remember the title off hand.
then hit the stores.
catch you all later.

Hi Ladies:
Yes Lori we were able to exchange the vanity, Home Depot was harder to make an exchange than I thought it would be. The bathtub we just returned and will get one somewhere else we didn't like the quality at all.
Saundra I am attempting to get the remaining Vhs Firm's that I have and that are available on DVD. I used to try and do it myself but it takes a long time especially if I wanted the chapters put in. But now some of them are available at a great price.
Did you here any update from Cathe yet? I don't go on that site that much.
I changed my e-mail but my updates from Cathe go to my old e-mail address.
Annette did actually go through mean-o-pause yet?
So I didn't clean today I went for a walk with a friend instead. i will get to it one day.
Besides walking I did a yoga workout along with a segment from Ab hits.

Diane, with the exception of Vol 5 (I am hoping Anna is going to put this one DVD) I have converted all of my VHS to DVD. If Anna doesn't put this one on DVD then I will go ahead and covert it. I still have two Cher Fitness tapes I need to covert.
Last update for Cathe is that we should have STS in time for Xmas. I hope this is true. I really want to start the program Jan 4th. She is selling a limit edition of her 2009 Calendar right now. The sale end Nov 7. After that date you won't be able to order the calendar. She has also put up a clips of the STS Disc 3 on YouTube. I wasn't excited over the first two disc but I like what I see on the second two disc.
Lori, I haven't decided about the bracelet yet. I have a couple of more weeks before I need to make up my mind.
Have you all seen the clips for the FIRM December Releases?. I think they look good. Looking forward to getting these.
I spent and hour and 5 minutes in line waiting to vote. I didn't get to my polling place until 10am and there was still a long line.
Alright, back to work I go.

how exciting for change for the United States. the whole world was watching & waiting in anticipation. true history in the making.
I haven't looked at the Firm Dec. releases. I preordered them though. I hope their good.
I'm still waiting for Anna's & Gin's dvds. & that dreaded mat. I swear, that mat will kill me from stressing about it. LOL

Power Abs Medicine Ball Workout
Gin Miller's Med Ball Workout - It was okay.
This is mostly a core intensive workout using the medicine ball. Gin intersperses simple cardio moves in between the med ball combos. For the cardio you have your choice of doing a march, jog, jumping jacks, and football run. Each time she does this it is about a minute long.
The workout incorportes several balance and twisting type moves using the med ball. She also tosses the ball quite a bit. Gin does figure 8s with and without the med ball in both the standing and seated positions. She does incorporate floor work in the form of pushups and then core work in the sitting position. During the push up segment, Gin has you place the med ball between your knees to perform the pushup.
I actually felt the workout was more beginner than intermediate. You can make the workout harder by selecting the more advance cardio moves and by using a heavier med ball.
I liked listening to Gin as she talked and she talked a lot. She was very pleasant and engaging.
The camera angles were a bit different. Several times the camera showed and frame view of what she was doing and she uses several PIP (Picture In Picture) camera angles to show various moves.
I liked her music selection even though there was no variety. It pretty much kept the same beat and rhythm all the way through.
Overall, I thought the workout was okay. Can't say I loved it, but I didn't hate it.

Hi y'all, thanks for the review Saundra on Gin's. I saw her Reebok Power workout at Goodwill last weekend.
Diane, hope you are doin' well!
Lori, sorry about strugglin' today.
Speakin' of Goodwill, I saw an old Jane Fonda treadmill with cassette player. No I didn't get it, but it would have gone wonderful with my Firm Cassette walking tapes.
I did get a great workout in today. Bryan Kest with hair, always make my day! And I finally was able to do Firm Tough Cardio. Kelsie cracks me up. She reminds me of Cedie.
Glad the election is OVER with, now back to football. :D I coulnd't find a USA Today to save my lfe. They ran out of The State Newspaper at the newstand and The State was printing more. We get ours home delivered.
I got a great chicken idea, for y'all, I did last night. I took chicken breast marinated with Italian dressing and placed on the Geo. Foreman grill. Just enough to give it "marks". Then I had leftover spinach I put in my black skillet. I took the chicken and placed in the pan over the spinach. A friend of mine gave me this really neat peanut sauce, I poured over it. It had some spiceness to it.
Since I have leftovers, tomorrow I'll cut up the chicken with chinese veggies.
Y'all have a great night! And a wonderful tomorrow!

Hi ladies:
Lori yes my house is new and it's about 3500 square feet. I am not sure about my mother-in-law if she would move with us or not My husband hasn't told her yet. My son will stay if my mother-in-law stays.
I can't wait for the privacy there isn't much where we live now, plus I am not happy what out neighborhood has turned into. One of the things not to get me started on. It's like being in the country but close to everything. Its not far from shopping at all. Actually closer to the Mall than where we live now.
Lori they just had the marathon this past weekend in NY 2 people actually died
one after tha marathon of a heart attack. He actually ran the marathon before.
Did you change your eating or something that you are struggling with your running or not getting enough sleep, I know if I am tired its harder for me to workout or if I ate poorly the day before.
Saundra I haven't tried Gin's Workout yet, thanks for the info. I hate scratching dvd's expecially ones you pay alot of money for.
I sent Lori pictures of my house that I talk about all of the time I can send you and Annette pictures if you want. My husband asked me not to post them over the internet.
Do you usually order the calandar? I just ordered mine thanks for letting me know.
Is there still going to be a Wave workout for December also?
Annette did you have an Ipod or mp3 player I put my Firm cassettes and other treadmill music on CD then transfered them to the MP3 player.
When I went to my sisters house this morning she didn't even know who won the election yesterday, while I stayed up watching the results. My niece was so cute asking me questions about who won and what the electoral votes were.
Workout for today was a Firm workout and 40 minutes of walking.

Diane, your house is over twice the size of mine! goodness, it will be a workout to clean it.
Annette, it looks beautiful. looks like the dream-homes you were describing a couple weekends ago.
Diane, if your mother inlaw & son move in, there is so much room in that house, you wouldn't even notice.
Diane, I think it's purely a struggle still, because it's still very challenging for me. I'm pretty sure my diet is good. I could always use more sleep though.
I'm going for another 5 miles today. I decided to add another cardio day into this week.
oh yes, I read that the other day about that runner who died. gee, I didn't know it was 2 people. that happens quite often doesn't it?
still waiting for dvds. I hope something comes today or tomorrow, so I can do a new strength workout on Sat.
I haven't heard anything about the other Wave dvd. all the talk has ceased on that one.
Saundra, how are you liking the new hours on your job? are you liking the new postiton? is it much different from what you were doing before?
hmm, I hope Gin's kbell workout isn't too beginner.
aren't you all finding that alot of the dvds are starting to become very beginner/intermediate?
were not posting as much as before. running out of things to say.

Good morning all.
Annette, that recipe sounds delicious. Well except for spinach. Not a fan of spinach although I have eaten it on occassion.
Diane, Yes I love looking at houses. So please send me the pictures. I don't know when Kelsie wave workout will be available. That haven't said anything about it. I don't know why they were in such a rush to get the Wave out. I have ordered Cathe's calendar the last two years. I like. I think it is a quality product.
Lori - The hours don't bother me. The only thing that's a pain is when I have to drive into DC as oppose to taking the train. Parking is a nightmare. Constantly driving around in circles. The position - the jury is still out on that. I am still finding my way.
How many days a week are you running right now?
I am checking in with CIA 2205 Knockout HI Lo.
Saundra
Lori
November 6th, 2008, 01:45 AM
Saundra, it is still early to know how you like the position. I can imagine how frustrating the parking situation is. guess that will all become familar eventually too.
I'm only running 3 days a week & strength training 3 days. alternating.
I was powerwalking 6 days a week awhile back. when I first got the treadmill actually. that's when I lost the last bit of weight I wanted to lose. then I started to add in my strength training again.
I was going to go to 4 days cardio. but, I think it will get my weight too low. too much cardio? probably not if I went on 3 miles & ate more. but, I just felt the urge to stick with the 3 days cardio & 3 strength. guess I know when I need to change again.
the thing is, I walk the dog daily, & he goes at a fairly good clip. he isn't one of those dogs that stops alot & sniffs. he likes to move. & we go usually for a hour.
I agree Saundra, I think the Wave should have had more thought put into it. They could have not been in such a hurry to rush it out before Christmas. the workouts needed to be longer. that's another thing I've noticed about Anna's Firms. so much time, effort, thought went into her workouts. I mean she really was picky. her music, her sets, the structure of the entire workout. I know Anna never would have thought to rush on any of her mastepieces. they truly put alot of the productions out there now to shame. I think Cathe is really the only one who is kind of close to the same quality. although I'm not too familar with Amy Bento's. are they close Saundra?
even Jari's that I did this morning. I got a decent workout from it. but, visually, & the fun factor are not like any of Anna's.
guessing it's why I always reach for the Classic Firms more than anything else. oh & the Kick**** & Fitprimes also.
crm549
November 6th, 2008, 06:11 AM
No I don't think Amy is close to Cathe or Anna but she is better than some. Mostly Amy uses the same production company that makes the CIA vidoes. Greg Twombley is the man behind that. Several instructors go to him to make videos. The problem with that is the same sets ends up being in 5 different instuctor videos.
I think or wish he had the capability to offer individual sets to the different instructors so that they could have their own look and feel.

I think we were all getting to know each other so there was alot of posting. But I am guilty of not being on the computer much.
Lori when do you workout? I usually workout in the morning, walking can happen anytime during the day. Thanks for the compliments about my house I know it was worth the wait but I am so impatient at this point.
I wish one of you lived closer to give me a kick in the b.utt I am pretty sure I gained the 5 pounds I lost back. Now I feel awful and depressed.
I do keep up with the exercise if not doing more lately. My friend lost her job so now she wants to walk everyday. I feel like such a nut case.
Waiting for this house to be done has not helped with my weightloss I let myself get stressed about it and I am finding that I eat without thinking.
Saundra I will send you those pictures I just have to do it from a different computer. You have my sympathy I go through the same thing when I bring my niece and nephew to Tae Kwon doe the parking just stinks. Plus the parking lot is tight so if I manage to get a parking space its a pain to back out of.
I have some of those CIA workouts that have the same set, I think even in some of Cathe's older workouts she had the same sets as Greg T.
Annette how is your week going?

November 6th, 2008, 10:11 AM
Hi y'all, week picked up better, thanks for asking! Diane. Heck I could even get lost in your house as well as my children and Dave! Speakin' of which, I was able to get Baron's yoga in today. Waitin' for a free space to workout. This is worse than waitin' in line at the ladie's room!
Sharon Twombley, is closer to Cathe's step/aerobic work. I tried to get in a few CIA workouts, but I have kept Keli's and Sharon's.
I don't think we can every run out of things to talk about!! Diane, I'll send vibes>>>>>>>>>>>>>to kick your hiney. Feel better now :D LOL
Lori, can your inner voice, whisper the lottery numbers :D LOL
Saundra, sorry about the parking lot issues. Glad you like your job though.
It is gettin' late here, I am hopin' to gently nudge Dave to go in his hovel, so I can finish my workout. The sad thing is I do have an extra tv that a friend of mine gave me. Perhaps I need to find a dvd/vhs combo, cheap.
Any excuse to go to garage sales this weekend!
crm549
November 6th, 2008, 11:41 AM
Annette, prices have come way down so you should be able to find one cheap. I need one myself. Lately my dvd player has been acting up. I put in a workout and it doesn't always read the disc. Of course this happens when I am in a hurry.
Diane, sorry to hear about the five lbs and your friend loosing her job. During difficult times I just try to ride it out by keeping up with my exercising even though my eating isn't going so great. You will be back on track in no time.
Earlier Cathe did use Greg to produce her workouts. Tracey Staehle was using him too but went else where because she didn't like having a set that look like everyone elses. I think Greg is cool though. I just think CIA should have their set, Amy hers, Kelly Coffey hers and so on. I am sure it must be expensive to offer individual sets. Although I do think it is possible to take a note from the Theatre community were they can raise and lower sets by using pull ropes and even that I am sure can be automated.
Almost time for me to go home. I took tomorrow off. I have errands to do, but I have to work Saturday.

Well, here we are again! Friday!
Diane, don't stress out girl. that's the worst thing for you. it raises your cortisol & then makes you eat more. take it from the horses mouth here. I've failed. everybody fails. now what you gotta do is just start over. back to square one. that's all. try not to be so darn hard on yourself.
cheer up hon'. just think of good things. like when you will get to move into your beautiful home. hopefully soon.
think about the nice walks you & your friend will have. nice chats.
picture yourself loosing the weight.
I've lost & gained 5 lbs so many times Diane, it's not even funny. I sound like a broken record, but, eventually the time will come, when it will stay off. & then you'll lose some more, some more & so on. really.
Saundra's right, continue to exercise. even if your eating habits are crappy, nothing better for your heart than exercising.
you've just lost your way for abit, now get back on that horse! you can do it Diane! & be nicer to yourself. sometimes are inner voices are so cruel.
Annette, have a great weekend with the football, kids & Dave. looking forward to Monday's Report of how the garage sale'n went!

Lori thanks for your kind words, I know I will get there, but right now I am having trouble seeing it. I am set in my ways also even when I am losing weight or trying to lose weight I like to feel safe if that makes since.
Annette do you travel far for you garage sales? When I use to have them and advertise I would get people from other states. They would spend the weekend going all over.

Diane, I have only done the workout once and I need to do it again. I wasn't a fan of the freen thing either. I think they should have used a wobble board instead. I am not going to say that to loudly. I certainly don't want that to be the next piece of equipment they come out with.
I have braces - over three years now. So every month I have to go to the orthodonist. I am so ready for these things to come off.
I went to Wal-Mart and as I was getting back in my car realize I forgot to get eggs :( - which is insane because I passed them when I picked up the ****er and the orange juice. I might try to stop back by a store when I come from the dentist. I am going to try to clean the main level of my home today.

Hi y'all,
I hate when I forget somethin' as well. Friday for instance on my way to work, picked up stuff and forgot toliet paper. Still need to go to grocery store. Need a few things.
Didn't go to garage sales this weekend, saving money to go to Trinity (Episcopal) Bazzar this weekend. They have a major one, everything from clothes to food.
Hadn't worked out since Thursday but I got into my high school red label Levis, with room to spare. I am excited. 5lbs is nothin' really to worry about, trust me, I can weigh x in the morning and gain 5lbs by the afternoon.
I need to go and get my hair cut and conditioned, my last relaxer, my hair fell out plus I am turning grey so my hair has become drier and more brittle.
I did sit myself on the sofa this weekend and caught the tail end of many exciting games. Yep, that was a nice present Clemson gave to Papa Bowden at FSU. Andrew and his friends came over and watched the game.
I have Skills, Drills and Thrills, I think that workout would be better on a bosu. Wish I could find one at a garge sale, :D
I usually workout in the afternoon, very seldom in the morning, otherwise I would crash for 2 hours! I got in this habit when the kids were in private school and had to read for 1/2 hour. That is how Andrew got into the habit of reading, while I was working out. Of course, he knew just by the voice of which workout I was doing that day. And he usually read more than a 1/2 hour.
I found a newer Bryan Kest w/o hair. Can't wait to try this one.
Saundra how is your job goin' besides parking?
(HUGS) to y'all. Hope y'all have a great week!

Annette, my hair fell out or I should say, I lost alot of hair this last time when I got my hair colored. I thought I was going to be bald!? why is that? do you know? I usually have my hair lightened & decided to go darker like my natural color to match my roots. I was surprised & scared at the hair loss?! it too, was so dry, I have been conditioning & hot oil treatments like a mad woman & it seems to be back to somewhat normal. wondering if the relaxing or coloring is hard on the scalp? I've never had this happen before.
I've got grey's coming in now too:(
make sure you post what the Bryan Kest workout is like. is it old or new? can't imagine him without his glorious locks?
wishing I could join you on your Trinity Bazzar. sounds nice.

Hi ladies.
I haven't done much today. In fact I have done very little. I haven't even workout yet.
Lori, I probably won't get to Gin's KBell workout until December, but I am glad to hear you liked it. Tuesday is a holiday for us too. Already looking forward to it.
Hi Annette. Hi Diane.

Don't feel rained on, I haven't done that much today either....besides go to 8:00 to read the first lesson (Episcopal). Pigged out at Cracker Barrel, slept, went to 5:00 to hear Katie sing (Catholic). And washed one load of clothes and changed a light bulb!
Dave brought home snacks.
Here is the link for Trinity: http://www.trinitysc.org/bazaar

Saundra, I thought Gin's kbell was pretty easy. but, the next day, I did have major DOMS in the glutes. one thing that I really liked about her dvd, she had some new moves that aren't on my other kbell dvds. I'm sure you'll like it. I'm always satisfied with Gin. you seem to get what you pay for. nothing spectacular, but pretty much, always a decent workout. the price is right IMO.
did you get your first level of your home tidyied?
gosh, what happened to Diane?
I'm joining in with a binge yesterday of Pizzahut. now, I have to run my b.utt off on the treadmill. I'm trying to stay at my target weight as closely as I can. I already bought an outfit for my DH's work Christmas Party & there's no room for extra weight.
I've decided to add another 5 miles (another day) to my rotation.
Annette, as always, thank you for the link:)

Hi Ladies:
Lori I had a replay written the other day and my lap top froze, byt the time the disc check was done I totally forgot. Or I should say my niece and nephew are over for the week and things just got busy. Plus the hog the computers.
I haven't done GIN'S kettlebell workout either.
Annette I am going to try Skills, Drills & skills on the bosu I will let you know how I like it.
I never had trouble with hair falling out but I have had trouble with a lot of
breakage.
Lori I have tried going darker also, but I was spending to much money keeping it dark the gray would show more than when I would have a lighter color in, plus my hair doesn't like to stay dark it always goes lighter so I gave up and just keep it light and I try to have some low lights once in a while if they stay in.
Saundra I had braces as an adult also it was when I was much younger though but some things you don't forget. Do you have the metal ones?
I would have loved some premixes on some of the longer Firm DVD's
Today was the Hare and 35 minutes of walking.
Lori hope your dvd's come today.

Today was a mess as far as workouts go.
I started with Star Trainers Violet Zaki Cardio and Strength workouts but got extremely annoyed with Violet's Cardio because it was mostly toning moves. I moved on to Rock It Off but got annoyed with the push ups so I ended up doing Dangerous Curves Ahead cardio only express option.
Diane, yes I have the metal ones. Now I am in the phase of wearing the rubber bands although when I went on Friday, I just have to wear them at night now.
Lori,no to clean the main level. Well I clean up the Kitchen a little bit. It not that messy just cluttered. I need to do some filing and putting things away. Maybe tomorrow as it is a holiday.
I will try to check back in later. Off to work now.

Diane, good to hear from you.
nice of you to say ( I hope I get my dvds today too).
your right about the lighter hair blends the grey alot better. but, I was so sick & tired of the roots.
I think my stylist burnt my scalp. everything seems to be alright now.
I had chunks of hair coming out. in clumps. I swear my scalp had 2 bald looking spots. really thin & wispy looking. I've never ever had this happen before.
the dark took a long time to get used to. I'm sure it won't last long. I'm forever changing it. can't leave well enough alone.
what is your holiday tomorrow?
Saundra, I hate when it's mostly strength when I looking for straight cardio. this is another reason, why I really like the treadmill.
well at least you got the kitchen done alittle. that's a start.
how long do you have to wear the braces? do you keep the elastics on when you eat & sleep?
crm549
November 10th, 2008, 08:20 AM
Tomorrow is Veteran's Day.
I am suppose to take the elastics off when I eat. Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't. Usually they break before I am done eating. I would love to know the answer to when they are coming off. Right now we are in the tweaking phase.

Hi y'all,
Saundra I had braces when I was younger. The bands are a pain, to say the least. Andrew needs braces but I am holding off because he has a growth sprut or two first. Plus shhhh, he still sucks his thumb.
Diane, if it is anything like my house, I have to wait until a room is open to workout!
Lori, welcome for the link. Trinity is a beautiful old historic church. I have been there for a wedding, Heathwood Hall graduation and few other events. My son informed me I might not be able to go, because the rec leagues football playoffs. His best friend plays as well as my nephew.
Tomorrow is my dad's birthday, easy to recall. I have already sent their birthday and Christmas presents off, but forgot to mail Cleo's (step mother's) shoes. What was I thinkin'.
I had a horrible hot flash yesterday (after my nap) and then the chills. I am goin' to bed early and rest.

Hi Ladies
Saundra you are one of the Veterans we are honoring right?
Oh Annette come on you are all ready sending out Christmas presents, Christmas is just not a thought in my brain this year. Where do you find the time to do everything. Happy Birthday to your Day? How old is HE?
Saundra when there are to many reps of anything it sometime turns me off of the workout. One arm rows in some of Anna's workouts are to much and forget the pushups in some of Cathe's workouts enough is enough already. Work a different body part instead of too much of one.
I had braces for 2 years I didn't need the rubber bands that long. But I did have a tooth that was twisted around and I had to have a wire wrapped around for a while. It did eventually turnback a little but never to where it was.
After I had my braces off my sister loved how my teeth came out and went and did hers.
Oh I even got married with mine I was almost done and it was not worth it getting them off and then back on.
Lori did you finally get those dvd's? Do you have long hair? I used to but once I cut it I never grew it back. Now its just to my shoulders.
Tomarrow we are off to the movies so I might be missing tomarrow also.

THEIR HERE! THEIR HERE!
Diane, your hope worked, The Tortoise & The Hare arrived today!
I'm so happy. I love the covers! I'm so excited to have them!
I will do The Tortoise on Wed & The Hare on Sat.
Annette, I hate those hot flashes! & the chills after. I never know what to wear. usually something very light. I look out of place. practically wearing summer clothes while everyone else is wearing sweaters. lol
Saundra, do they give you a whole bunch of elastics?
Diane, have you already decided what movie you are going to see?
no, my hair is short. chin length at the moment. sort of a shaggy-bob.
I haven't had it long for a couple years now. I'll try & get a picture up. maybe I'll get one from my DH's work Christmas Party.
when my hair gets longer than shoulder length, I can't stand it anymore & have it hacked off. I think it makes me look older longer.
I was just re-reading Anna's homepage. where it has the About Anna...it really is quite impressive of all she's accomplished.
It really hit me on the part where it states she trained her instructors not only with the workout bits, but being in front of the camera! boy! I'll say. this is where alot of the new stuff being pumped out totally fails!
remember how we were discussing awhile back about how the classic Firms & the Kick****/Fitprime series are so beautifully visual.

November 11th, 2008, 12:32 AM
Lori, I totally agree. And when you look at all who have spun off from Anna. It is also impressive. Many of these ladies have or co-own their own gyms now. They have been able to make successful careers in the fitness industry due to the training they got from her.
I thought the covers of the Tortoise and the Hare were a bit bland compared to Vol 2, 3, and 6. But then the original covers were that way as well.
Lori I have so many elastics that they show up all over my house where I don't expect them too.
Diane, excessive reps can be a pain. Cathe can go overboard on the bicep curls wit the barbell too. I think for me Jari Love is the one that takes the cake. Tooooooo many reps.
Annette sending good exercise vibes back your way.
I am off to make breakfast.

Hi y'all,
Saundra hope you had a great day off! Sounds like kids pacifiers, they were all over the place either! And legos. I banned legos from my house! Especially after working in day care.
My dad is in his 70's. Both are retired and living in Miami, where they are originally from. Dave's parents called today, they live near Portland, Oregon. His mother has been health problems. I can't believe they are almost in their late 80's. Dave started late in life havin' children, happens when you have a young girlfriend :)
I have done Jari's Advanced Rotation. I added Firm's cardio and legs for cardio. The reps done in Jari's rotation started bothering my knees.
The covers on the Tort/Hare are beautiful. I am amazed at the women who have spun off as well. I think Anna is proud of these women who continue to help us on our fitness journey as well as Anna, who still motivates me. That woman is amazing!
Thanks for the good workout vibes.....had a killer workout for a change. Bryan Kest w/o hair-Yoga Sculpting. It is tough, he tends to be a more a little more chatty but it was great yoga workut. My legs are fried! I did Cathe's Push/Pull and finished with Firm Cardio Step Mix.
I think the beginning of the year is a great time for me to start the 90 Day Rotation. Hadn't done that yet!
On to cook dinner, we are having Stir Fry. Got these neat chinese/***** noodles made of rice. Very thin. And then callin' dad to wish him happy birthday.
Oh, I forgot, I kinda shop all year long. And pick up stuff on sale. I found my step mother a brand new Aigner make up bag at the the thrift shop and purchased her fav perfume off of eBay. Winter clothes are cheaper in February, March, while it is a good time now to purchase summer clothes. When in doubt I get gift certificates. :D
Happy Middle of the Week-Wednesday!

Lori, I've bought a treadmill. It arrived today. I hope it is the treadmill that I ordered. I have to put it together myself and that thing is heavy. It took me and the driver to get it into my front door.
I am not worried about putting the treadmill together, I put one together before. I just want it to work when I am done because it will be a pain having to have it shipped backed.
I got the treadmill from HSN - again but this time I bought their 2 year warranty. The last treadmill I got from them lasted just over a year.
I will let you know when I am up and running.

Saundra, congratulations on your treadmill. One of these days I would like to get one that folds.
Oh, I was on Craigslist yesterday and missed the Heart Rate Monitor by 5 minutes! For the past year, I feel like I have been missin' everything by 5 minutes, 5 hours and 5 days!

yeah! I'm jumping up & down & clapping for you! hope you get it set up soon!

Annette, that's nice that Dave cooks dinner. you gotta love that.

Hi Ladies:
It's been a hard week sorry I haven't posted much.
Tuesday I brought my niece and nephew to the movies and after, all they did was complain they didn't want to go in the first place so I am like why bother. I wasted my money.
Well the Tuesday night or I should say early Wednesday morning really stunk I get a phone call 12:30 AM from my neighbor and he said there is a car on FIRE on the side of your house well sure enough there was flames coming out of our tennants car. I run into the living and tell my husband and he says call 911. I run into the bedroom and wake my niece up she got up right awat which she usually doesn't but I guess the word fire got her up real quick. My nephew was already up from the noise so by that time we are really not leaving the house, we figured it was just the car, but I wanted my niece out the the bedroom it was the side of the house where the car was parked. But when the Firemen came they said we had to leave the house. It was a little scary there for a while the house did start burning at one point but by that time they were putting the fire out.
I will tell you all more later. I just wanted to check in with you all.
I will try to chat later

Hi y'all, I tried Mark Blanchard's Progressive Yoga. I stopped at an hour and thirty minutes at least he was in the corpse pose. That is a toughie as well. I guess I need a tough workout these last few days. I enjoy Mark's yoga but I ignore his chattering. His mother is in this dvd. Haven't decided if I want more or not.
I also did Firm Lower Body Sculpting. Waitin' for a tv so I can finish cardio. I hope Dave hurries up and finishes his game because Andrew wants me to watch football with him tonight. Meanwhile Katie is packin' for her trip to Charleston. I wish I could go, I could workout at Tracie Long's gym.
Speaking of which, here is a link about Jen Pelusio. And she is in Asheville about 2 hours from me. I wish I had know when I was in Aville!!
http://www.fusionpilates.com/
Ohhh, I went to Target and found The Bean for under 13.00. It is ooh so my Christmas present for myself :D I met Lisa Kay and she is a very nice person, down to earth and friendly!
Katie and I have been working out, she is borderline obese. Which I can't firgure out because we eat pretty healthy but can do better, though. She is taking aerobics this semester, so she is off the yoga mat!
Dave cooks, but I prefer he pick up something healthy. Emerial he ain't but Dave wants to be. Left up to him, meat and potatoes, and dessert. I guess Dave fell in the habit of sweets being on the road for 2 years. His grandmother died of diabetes, ya think he would take better care of himself.
Thank goodness for workout forums and havin' a connection of keepin' us together and motivated!

Hello All.
It seems this week has gone on forever and has flown by at the same time. I have been super busy with work. Just now, I am really coming up for a breather.
Lori I did finish setting up the treadmill. All appears to work fine except my speakers. I got a treadmill that would allow me to connect my IPOD but the speakers are horrible. Beyond mediocre:mad: . They go in and out, but I believe all the other functions work okay.
Annette, let me know how you like the Bean. I often thought about getting one, but didn't think I would really use it. For 13 bucks, I might have cave.
Now that I have my treadmill, I am going to have to figure out how to add it into my rotations. Adding it into my rotation means I won't have time for a dvd workout. I really need to stop buying dvd workouts. I have so many.
Lori, I am thinking about doing another 5K in May. So I will need to prepare for that.
I am checking in with Absolute Kickboxing CIA 2705. My forarms are really sore. I think it is from moving the treadmill.

Good girl Saundra.
that's too bad the speakers are crummy.
yep, this week went by too fast for me also. sometimes it seems like my life is just ripping by?!
my Wave mat finally arrived today. can you believe that? 3 months? & after all that whining & complaining? moaning & groaning for that silly peice of saran wrap? I was surprised at the cheesy little thing. are you kidding me?
I'm thinking I might be cutting a yoga mat up?
I ran 5 miles again this morning. I ran 25 miles this week. 40 kilometers. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to The Tortoise tomorrow.
the treadmill will make you realize you have too many dvds. seriously. that is how I came to the realization that I only wanted to keep my Firms (originals, new, Kick****s/Fitprimes).
it will make you pick your favorites, & see what really works for you.
do you have to work tomorrow?
I bet your forearms were sore. no doubt. that's alot of work on them. your b.utt will be sore tomorrow too. alot of bending & standing up, over & over again.
I'll check in tomorrow, see what you are all up to.
we know Annette will be busy with football & maybe garage-sale'n.
hope things are going better for Diane.

Lori, I told you that mat was flimsy. It is almost as light as paper.
Did your treadmill come with IFIT programs and if so do you use them?
Saundra
Lori
November 15th, 2008, 01:53 AM
I had only 8 kilometers on my last post? I changed it. it was supposed to be 40? I swear I'm losing my brain?
no, I don't have IFIT. do you? there was one we were seriously looking at, at Sears we were gonna buy, that had that. but my DH wanted the Epic because it had the tv & lots of programs installed on it? ( I don't use them, he does for his hockey training?)
I'm so ignorant on the computer, I would link my treadmill, but I don't know how. If you google Epic View 550 Treadmill, that's the one we got. I love it. It's really quiet & cushiony. Running on it, is very smooth, nothing like our old treadmill.
are you going to try out your treadmill today?:)
you did say that Wave mat was flimsy! man, & you weren't kidding either! LOL, that mat is embarrassing. my placemats on my dinner table are thicker?! LOL I'm curious to see next week if it is different than using the yoga mat.
is there just a loose connection on your speakers or are they just cheesey? that bites, Saundra. why can't things just go smoothly? ugh. our old treadmill had this loose connection on the read out...you had to wriggle it occassionally. very annoying, but still workable. it would get pinched too, whenever we used the fold up option.
did you hear, Kelsie finished filming the 10 kbell workout?
crm549
November 15th, 2008, 05:29 AM
Lori,
No I didn't hear about Kelsie 10 KB workout. Where did you hear of it?
Also, I have to take back what I said about the speakers. Apparently with the IPOD I just can't connect to the speakers using a standard audio cable. I also have to use a USB cable. Once I plug in my USB cable the sound was so much better.
Yes I have IFIT. But I see with your EPIC it comes with 28 Personal Training Workouts. Do you ever do any of them? I am thinking IFIT is probably similiar to that. The TV on the treadmill looks cool by the way.
I probably won't use it use it. I am still figuring out all the programs. Along with IFIT, it comes with 15 Personal Training programs built in. It doesn't allow me to input my weight. My last treadmill did that. I thought that was a standard feature with Proform Treadmill, but I guess not.
You are right on the mat. Alot of people were wondering if the MAT was an after thought. It really doesn't seem worth the price it cost to make it.
Saundra

November 15th, 2008, 06:40 AM
I read about Kelsie's workout at the VF forum.
I did use the programs in the beginning, when I first started to use it. my DH uses them always. He likes to interval. I'm not a fan of the inclines. I think they are the same too probably as the IFIT's. there are four separate choices: Walking Program, Weight Loss, Aerobic Fitness & Peformance. ranges from 30 minutes to 90 minute programs. I think 7 different levels on each. I was using some of the Aerobic Fitness interval programs with no inclines.
this past month, I've been just running at 5 miles for an hour. gradually increasing my days. This past week has been the most I've run. mile-wise.
Next week I plan to alternate days with yoga. I haven't done any yoga for quite some time.
oh & there's a fan built into the treadmill too. yup, I keep saying it over & over again. I really like our treadmill. I would recommend it.
on our old treadmill I listened to music. this little tv, I love to watch CNN. just run for an hour & get my news in. It's been really nice.
I told DH next time, I definately want a tv in with the treadmill. Like going to the gym. If we can't find another one with the tv in it.
glad your speakers are alright. have you gone for a run on it yet? or still testing the waters? oh, today is your rest day isn't it? your probably tidying up now, huh?
crm549
November 15th, 2008, 09:11 AM
No. Friday's are my rest day but I took Thursday off to put together my Treadmill. Yesterday I did CIA Absolute Kickboxing. This morning was Cathe Supersets.
My treadmill came with Weight Loss, Performance and Aerobic programs but they only go from 20 to 50 minutes.
I have a fan also. I bought the Treadmill from HSN. The one they were showcasing wasn't the one I got because that one didn't have a fan. So I look around for one with a fan and got the one I got. The one I got though doesn't allow you to check your calories burn according to your own weight. I know the one they showcase did because I remember the lady saying so.
I need to tidy up but I have been incredibly lazy. I did go run errands. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and bought a full length mirror. I broke the frame trying to shut the lift on my car. All of a sudden it started to pour rain and I was getting soaked and became in a rush to get the thing in the car.
I think I will try to go for a run tomorrow. Are you taking a break from the Kettlebells?
Can you get to the firm website? I keep getting an error.

I couldn't get onto the Firm either.
Saundra, the mirror! that bites! you sound alot like me. a least you didn't break the glass. your luck is about as good as mine?! LOL
bet you swore? cussed some? I would.
I am taking a break from the kbells. to be honest, I think I will run & do some yoga only for awhile.
I'm tired of weights. I feel bulky. well, Madonna-like. too muscley. not very feminine looking.
I feel burnt out from weight training? overkill? I think that's why I could run so easy this week, because I just didn't want to lift weights?
you have not been lazy. not by your posts, by any means. you are so busy girlfriend. you need a break!
I'm going to go through my dvds, & ween again. I have alot that I know aren't advanced enough anymore. I'm going to give my Wave away:rolleyes: that was definately a mistake.
I think you'll only use your programs anyhow in the beginning. you'll end up creating what works for you best on your own. I think. especially after you've used it for awhile.
the fan is nice in the summer. you'll be glad you got it, in the heat of the summer.
I wouldn't worry all that much about your calories being burned by your weight...from what I read that's pretty much phewy. they aren't supposed to be all that accurate?
DH makes a good point about all the bells & whistles..he say's, as long as you run as hard & long as you can, your doing your best & that's pretty much all you can do". it's true, really thats all that matters.
now quit looking at all the other treadmills out there;)
you'll only find nicer, better & cheaper ones! LOL that always happens. same as when you buy a car or a new dress?!
have a good run tomorrow & it was real nice yakking with you today Saundra. I'll check in on you tomorrow?
what's up with Firmdirect, I wonder???

Hi ladies:
It was a busy week last week, things should be better this week. My niece and nephew went home Saturday night. It was nice to have a restful sleep.
I finally get on the computer now I have to get off. My husband is changing the internet service to Fios. So hoefully I will chat with you later.

nice to hear from you again Diane. will be glad to chat with you once again online.
I ran for 2 & 1/2 miles & the did the Sleek workout from Sleek Essentials. very tight. I see I have lost alot of flexibility.
I just gave away a ton of my fitness dvds & equipment. sorry to see things go, but I've been honest with myself. alot of these were no longer working for me.
I ordered some yoga dvds. will crosstrain my running with yoga.
starting to get chilly here. how about where you all are?

Diane. Glad to hear things are getting back to normal.
Lori, yesterday was cold. Today, I didn't think was as cold.
I am checking in with Amy Bento Advance Step Challenge 3 for yesterday and today 30 minutes on the treadmill.
It was supposed to be the Star Trainers series but I think I am through with that series.
I spent some of the weekend copying over the rest of my VHS's to DVD. I still had 3 old firm and 2 Cher Fitness to covert. I was trying to wait until Anna announce her next group but she hasn't so I went ahead and copied over Vol 5. I was hoping this one was going to be in her next group of DVDs, but oh well.

Lori:
thanks for the e-mail I did get it. I just didn't have the time on the computer to respond.
You don't think the Firm will come out with better Wave dvd's?
Did you have regrets after getting rid of certain dvd's?
Saundra what program do you use for putting vhs to dvd? I have a few, there are ones that I like more than others. One that I have I really like but it has a time limit and doesn't let me record longer workouts etc.
I hope my friend gets a job soon I don't mind walking with her but it messes up my day. We used to walk when she got home from work, now she wants to do it in the morning. I am not getting anything done that I need to.
The Fios guy took all day getting the service set up he came at 1:00 and didn't finish until I got home at 5:30.
I have to tell you all what I did today my husband was at home with the phone guy and at our other house the cable service was hooked up. So because of problems with stuff being stolen we block the drive way with an excavator, well my husband asked me to move it back well I was terrified of driving the stupid thing. There is a drop off the side of the driveway and I was just so scared of going off the side. So of course he tells me how to use the shift thing and what do you the stupid thing goes backwards. It wasn't a *** deal but I felt so shakey after moving it.
My workout for today was walking 30 minutes and Firm Parts upper body
and 10 minutes of ab work.
Saundra the pushups and one arm rows are to much in this one.

Good for you for being able to move the excavator Diane! cool
I do think they will come out with another Wave dvd. Kelsie filmed one. better, maybe, but, it's just not for me. I really felt no intensity whatsoever.
no, honestly, I'm not all that sorry to see them go. I just know in my heart of hearts that it was time for the easier stuff to move on.
I am sorry that I did buy the Wave. but, I finally have learned a valuable lesson finally.
I just know now what works for me & what isn't.
I know what you mean about 'changes of plans, ruining your day'. I get so set in my way & have things routine for my liking.
Annette, I thought of you when I gave away the rebounder. I kept saying to myself, "too bad Annette didn't live closer".

Hi y'all,
I was able to workout on Thursday with yoga, got the Mark Blanchard's Progressive yoga. It was a looong practice but I the corpse pose short. I also tried American Power Yoga. He is a cutie for sure!! He reminds me of Claude but also has the inspriational chattiness of Bryan and Baron. I did manage to get cardio in, did Cardio Step Mix.
Didn't workout at all this weekend much less make it to the bazaar. You know the adage, when you make plans. Oh well. Did go see my nephew play Rec football. I am so happy Andrew is not playin' rec football and playin' with Pop Warner. I got his pics on Sunday and he is tryin' to smile tough. BOYS!
Clemson won this week but Clemson has to win against, VA and USC to become bowl eligible. USC lost *** time to FL. Andrew wants a USC/Clemson party in 2 weeks, it will take me that long to clean up!
I would love to have a treadmill, one day, along with other equipment. I already purchased my Christmas present to myself....The Bean, it was under 13.00 at Target. Also at Target was this neat yoga kit with Jill Miller. It has these neat bars for pushups and can be used for 2lb weights. I still need to get another 25lb weight. Someone on Craigslist was selling weights, never did hear back though.
Found a cute Champion bra at Kohls for 3.10 to wear under bras that don't support me that well. Can't stand the uni-boob. :)
Diana I can see you movin' the excavator!
Lori I wish I could clone myself and be at several places at the same time.
Saundra, I got Star Trainers in a trade. I never did do them and ended up trading them away. I have alot of workouts I traded and never did do and ended up trading or selling them on yayas.
I did notice Sears was having a sale, I might have to mosey to the mall this week, plus I need vacuum bags. :D
Y'all have a great week, sending good vibes y'alls way>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Diane
Your niece and nephew sound like my children. Are you sure YOU don't have my children! Sorry to hear about the fire. That is scary, glad it was just the car and nothing else.
Katie had a great time in Charleston. They went shopping (and the whole time I am thinkin' I hope she gets things on sale), ice skating and a dance. She cam back hoarse. Of course Andrew loved being the only child, so he could pick out the restaurants. Andrew also had his football party on Sunday. It was nice at the park but windy.
I wish I could go away for the weekend....
I do like Jen P, she is so flexiable. Also on Yayas thread is a Taber. Wow, she is stunning! Taber is now a lawyer.

Not all exercises are designed with women in mind
JULIE DEARDORFF, Chicago Tribune
IF YOU HATE SIT-UPS, you’re in luck.
They’re one of the top five exercises women should completely avoid, says personal trainer Kristal Richardson. The other ones to avoid are the ones you’re doing wrong, says Richardson, a Bloomington, Ill., native and “professional figure competitor” — a division of bodybuilding that emphasizes tone, symmetry and lean muscle.
So while women can tackle the same workouts as men, their joints are generally looser than a man’s and “poor form and too much weight can lead to stiff joints or even damage.”
Here are five exercises that Richardson says women should avoid.
1. Don’t do sit-ups: Richardson says that if you lock your hands behind your head, it can cause a torque in the spine, which ultimately leads to neck pain. Remember sit-ups are different from “crunches.” When you do a sit-up, you bring your torso up 90 degrees, so that your back is off the floor. A crunch has a limited range of motion; you raise your torso about 45 degrees and your lower back will still be on the floor. Instead, try bicycle crunches, which are considered one of the most effective abdominal workouts. Lie on your back, place your hands next to your ears and start a pedaling motion with your legs, lifting the left shoulder to the right knee and vice versa. Try three sets of 10.
2. Don’t do weighted squats: Squats with a weight bar on your back build serious bulk in the rear end and upper thighs, places women are most likely looking to trim down, said Richardson, who found that weighted squats increased her muscle — and made her waist ***ger. “It did not look cute,” she said. They also strain the knees and lower back. Instead, try lunges, which “don’t place nearly as much stress on the lower back and distribute the workout throughout the entire leg,” said Richardson. To do a lunge, take a long, even stride forward with one leg. Be sure to keep your knee at a 90-degree angle with your foot for support. If you have bad knees, try doing a reverse lunge by stepping backward. Try holding a lunge for a minute on each side.
3. Don’t do the behind-the-neck shoulder presses: This exercise strains the shoulders, both on the way down and on the way up. The little muscles on the top of your shoulders work too hard and become inflamed, causing ‘weight lifter’s shoulder,’” Richardson said. It also puts a lot of stress on the shoulder joints, which can lead to permanent damage. Instead, try a seated shoulder press. “Hold a pair of dumbbells overhead with your arms straight and palms facing each other,” Richardson said. “Then, bend your right elbow and lower your right arm, moving your elbow out to the side until your upper arm is parallel with the floor.” Press back up and repeat with your right arm for three sets of 12 reps with each arm. Don’t bring your arms down too low or you’ll be putting unnecessary stress on the shoulders.
4. Don’t do straight leg pushups: Push-ups are often the culprit of neck, lower back, elbow and shoulder pain. They require a lot of strength; holding your entire body parallel to the floor is no small feat and it’s easy to overdo it. Instead, try push-ups on your knees. Focus on where you place your hands to make sure you’re working the chest, rather than letting your knees support you. You can also try the dumbbell bench press instead for toning the chest and shoulders. Lie flat on your back and, with arms straight up and dumbbells in hand, slowly lower the arms to just past a 90-degree angle or until you feel a slight stretch in your chest. Repeat three sets of 10 reps.
5. Don’t do standing dead lifts: Since women are typically more flexible than men and can bend down farther, it puts even greater stress on their legs and lower back. It also results in bulky back, leg and rear end muscles. Instead, try leg kick-backs. Facing a wall, stabilize yourself with your arms and kick your right leg back as far as you can. Repeat 10 times and follow the same routine with your left leg. You should feel a burn in the back of your legs. Try two sets.

Hi All
Oh Diane, Whether it is the FIOs guy, the cable guy or the satellite guy - they all seem the same. What I hate is when they give you a time between 1pm and 5pm and it is always your house that they show up right before 5pm and then they are there all night.
I wish my area had FIOS. I really think my cable company needs the competition. I actually have DISH Satellite for TV, Vonage for my phone, and I used cable for my internet connection. If I ever had to go back to dial-up for internet, I think I would die.
Annette, I found these two gorgeous sweaters at Sears a couple of weeks ago. Actually I bought one and wore it and the next day I went back and got another color. I liked it that much. I have been trying to get away from buying something in every color but this time I just couldn't resist.
Lori, I am seriously thinking about taking a page out of your book. I need to ween my DVD workouts down. I just recently bought an Amy Dixon workout and was so annoyed with it. I should have waited to see a preview clip.
I am checking in with Complete Body Sculpting.

Hi Ladies:
Annette I forgot to mention I tried Skill, drill & thrill with the Bosu, I did like the workout better I felt much safer but then some moves were to fast for the bosu so I modifyied a bit. Over all I like the workout better, I did feel like I was going to fall all of the time.
Saundra we didn't switch the TV we stayed with Direct TV, when we do eventually move Fios is not availabe in that area but my husband did put in the wire if they come to the area.
Lori do you sell your dvd's or do you just give them away, I usually just give them away or donate them to the libarary. When I had tag sale the workouts did not sell to well in my neighborhood.
My niece wouldn't let me get rid of my rebounder she jumps on it all of the time plus I like the G-force workouts, did you have these?
Today was walking 30 minutes and the Step Cardio section of Body Max 2 plus the ab section.
Lori
November 18th, 2008, 01:16 PM
Saundra, you wouldn't believe what I got rid of. I know the feeling of being annoyed or just not liking anything anymore (new ordered videos).
the treadmill is such an eyeopener. or was for me. I lost all the weight I wanted & then going back to some of my favorite videos, well, they just didn't cut it.
& I find I lift heavier on my own also with the weights.
we must be long lost sisters...I am infamous for buying 3 or 4 of every peice of clothing. LOL...drives my DH nuts. he says it looks like I'm wearing the same clothes everyday.
Diane, yes G-Forces are gone with the rebounder. I donate to the Boys & Girls Club or the Salvation Army. this time being close to Christmas, I sent the works to Salvation Army.
Annette, that was cute of Andrew smiling 'tough'.
I started to run my 5 miles today & couldn't. burnt out, hit a wall totally. logged alittle over 18 minutes & then just powerwalked for 45 minutes & I was done.
have decided to do a 14 day yoga rotation. read about this in other forums & have always wanted to try it. now feels right. will start tomorrow. bore you all to death with my yoga workouts now instead of my running.
all this strength & running training has made my flexibility very poor.
I ordered 13 yoga dvds. I only had Karen Voight's Sleek Essential dvd with the roller left. one of the yoga dvds I did have at one time & traded it.
I swear these are the last of videos I'll be buying for ages...

Diane, I forgot to tell you. I have a vcr to dvd combo unit. I can actually copy from vcr to dvd and also the other way dvd to vcr. I got the unit because I had many workouts on vhs and I wanted to be able to play both VHS and DVD workouts.
I also have an all-in-one TV/VCR/DVD unit but it doesn't record. It is rather bulky and when I converted most of my VHS to DVD, I replaced in with a Flat Screen tv.
Lori, 13 Yoga DVD's that's alot but the change up in your workout will probably be good for your results.
I am checking in with Med Ball Madness for Wednesday and CIA Kick Box Boot Camp for today.

Day 2 of yoga.
Saundra, I ordered 4 other yoga dvds. you are right, just what the doctor ordered. I can't believe how much flexibility I lost?! I really need this rotation. There was a couple more yoga dvds I wanted, so I figured may as well order these & be done with it. there aren't really any others so far that I was interested in. figure this collection will do. after I do all of them, I figure I will have gained my flexibility back, hopefully. & then the break will be good for my body too, like you said. I think I was real close to a burn out. then I plan on going with a treadmill one day & yoga the next, alternating.
these are the dvds I got & ordered:
Yoga Burn
Yoga Now
Yoga on the Edge
Yoga Conditioning
Yoga For Longevity
Ali MacGraw Yoga
3 Barbara Benagh yoga dvds
Yoga for Longevity
Yoga on Demand
Yoga Body
Element Yoga
4 Yoga Zone Alan Finger
I noticed my appetite is not so extreme also.
Medicine Ball Madness. is that Patrick's?
busy at work? are you liking the new position? or is it still too early to tell?
are you liking your treadmill? & did you keep your pearl set?
do you have any preorders for more dvds?

My vcr dvd combo would not let me record the vidoes. So I use the computer.

Diane, I've only done 2 days of yoga, so it's still too early for me to tell. I've never done a 14 day rotation of yoga before. I've read about it quite often on other forums. I figured if I have enough different titles it shouldn't get too boring.
I'm one that can run on the treadmill endlessly remember? I don't get bored that easy. LOL
maybe if I did these videos over & over again they will become stale. but, they are new to me.
It is a very rainy, blustery day here today. not looking forward to taking the dog for his walk later. guess it's better than snow.

Hi y'all, did you read that article. If I listened to that woman I would have to throw away just about every workout I own! I love my rebounder mini trampoline. One of these days I would like to get a Reboundair. But for now my el cheapo will have to do.
I have some yoga workouts for sale, that I posted on Firm yayas. Just don't have the time to do. My favs so far are: Baron, Bryan, Eionn, Rodney, Iron Yoga, Mark Blanchard. I tried Kundalina yoga from the library and had a few of Ravi/Ana's which I do like. It was hard deciding between Kundalina and Power Yoga. Power Yoga won. I think it is a mental thing to become more powerful in a good way. I try and do yoga before I workout. I think it warms me up and I can endure my rotation. Plus I think it is also a mental focus.
I also love Anna's Yoga workout. My quads are usually sore when I finish hers. I have the blowup Wedge, wish I had the one she has. I also like Flexposture with Anna and Tamala. Great stretches in both of them.
No snow here, it warmed up the 60's. I did see some people with their convertiable tops down but "Miss-Low-Iron" was cold.
I did go to thrift shop today and found an Evan Piccone green pea coat. One sale for 2.50! I need to take to cleaners. I also found at Goodwill a brand new Old Navy make up bag.
I did Tracie Long's Fast Cheetah on Tuesday. That is a tough workout, really worked me well. The ankle weights do make a difference!
I wish I had Direct TV at times especially during football season. Speaking of TV, Time Warner is raising rates again. And to add insult to injury some games are pay for view. Gee whiz!
I still need to go to Sears. And Tweeters in Columbia is going out of business. I need to go there as well, perhaps I can find a cheap vcr. Yep I'll put the bosu on my wish list. I still can't figure out why I didn't get a bosu at Play It Again Sports last year. I must have been toooo many leg presses and got oxygen deprived! :D
TGIF!

What sieze ankle weight do you use, I used to use the 5 pounds mostly now I use the 3's especially for Volume one of the Firm.
Lori I could never get into the longer yoga workouts they would sit on the shelf or I would do a portion of it.
Any plans for the weekend I have a birthday party on Saturday I am not looking foward to it my sister-in-law has us there by 2:00 but the party doesn't end until 10:00 at night I could think of other things to do.
Hi Saundra
Today will be 30 minutes of some type of cardio and 25 minutes of yoga along with some ab work.

Hello Ladies.
I have been very busy with work. I don't think I care for the new position, mostly because everything is so disorganized, but it will do for now.
It snowed here this morning but only briefly. I am not a snow person. It always wreaks havoc on my commute.
My plans for this weekend is get my homework done. I am going to try to knockout all of my assignments left for this semester. The semester ends Dec 12.
Lori, I am going to send back the pearls. The treadmill I have only used once so far. I am still trying to finish up my current rotation. So there really isn't room for treadmill just yet.
Annette, no I didn't read the article but that was because I knew I wouldn't agree with it. Somebody is always coming up with something. There is always a study that says you shouldn't do this and another one a week later that contradicts that study.
Diane, I prefer shorter yoga workouts too. My mind starts to seriously drift after about 15 minutes of yoga and or stretching workouts.
Today is a rest day for me. I will try to check in this weekend between homework breaks.

Hi y'all, it is brrrrrr rabbit here. I got home this afternoon it was 44 degrees and while I was talkin' to the boys it dropped to 42! Two of the boys had shorts and hoodies on. Andrew had on his jersey with t-shirt. It makes my teeth chatter just thinkin' about them playin' in this weather. They do have thicker blood I supposed!
Saundra I hope you are doing well in classes. I need to do major housework here this weekend. Sorry those pearls didn't work for you.
DAve had his dinner at office and I made a salad. DAve brought some of it home so I can get out of cookin' detail.
Lori I can do spring and fall. But not the extremes of winter/summer. At one I loved winter until I got older and blood got thinner!
Diane I think I have 6lb ankle weights. I had lighter weights. Sometimes depending on the workout I'll add 10 or 12lb weights on my outer thigh. Ya think this would get rid of cellulite?! LOL
I do prefer the shorter yoga workouts when I am pressed for time.
I'll probably watch the VA/Clemson game and whatever else is interesting. I did watch part of the GT/Miami game before calling it a night. USC/Clemson rivalry week is comin' soon and smash talk has already started! Either way, Dave has to cook dinner, he is an alum of USC.
Y'all stay warm!

Annette, I would love it if it were 44 degrees here. It is in the middle twenties in Maryland today.
Lori, the 10 Minute Solution workout with Michelle Olson isn't even using a KB. She uses a dumbell in all 5 sections. Collage has a clip up. What is the purposes of showing a KB on the cover. Also do you celebrate December 25 as Christmas?

Lori
November 21st, 2008, 12:55 PM
I laughed when Annette commented that just about everyone of her workouts was "something" she shouldn't be doing on that list! LOL
I agree with Saundra, there's always someone telling you, you should do this, not that. I'm a b.ig believer in 'listening' to my own inner voices. I don't need or want someone telling me what I should or shouldn't be doing. now I don't mind someone sharing their experiences, don't get me wrong in that regard. you gotta do what works for you, right? alot of that stuff printed out there is just "bunk".
I still like reading stuff like that though. (thanks for posting these things Annette). it's always good to read every angle of information. take peices from this & peices from that.
tomorrow my DH & I are going Christmas shopping for prizes for his work Christmas Party. (yes, Saundra same day of Christmas the 25th here also) the 26th is really, really b.ig here also. Boxing Day. can you all believe it's only a month away, already!
Saundra, that is really false advertisement as far as I concerned on that dvd. I think they should refund in full. why put a darn kbell on the cover???
too bad about the pearls. & on the job-front. I hate disorganization....period!
Annette, enjoy your football. & your right about kids being able to run around with shorts & bare arms in the dead of winter?! funny.
& we saw your picture Annette, I doubt you EVEN have cellulite. or if you do, it's probably so miniscule (spelling ?) (well, you know what I mean).
Diane, that's a long birthday party?! maybe it will turn out better than you expect.
Saundra, hope your studying goes well. cram, cram, cram. get those assignments done!
I thought it was cold here. 56 degrees. I better keep my mouth shut.

November 21st, 2008, 08:30 PM
Hi y'all,
Saundra, sorry about the dvd working out, that really is something!
You know thinking about that article, all those instructors in Collage catalgoue must be doing something right, if they do some or all those exerices that she told us NOT to do. That is how I think about it. There is alot of mis information out there as far as working out. I am glad the tried and true workouts are the ones that give me the greatest results.
56 degrees that is almost convertiable weather here! :D LOL
The Clemson/VA game is goin' to be cold. They are playin' in VA. Then again Clemson is in the mountains. Yep on top of this Tweeters, Circuit City and Dillards are going out of business. So we need to go shopping today. I am trying to find those elusive jeans. I am hoping Sears has 25% off of weights. I do need another 25lb. What was I thinkin' when I didn't get 2.
Dave is thinkin' about Christmas dinner already. I gotta get through Thanksgiving, first. We are goin' to Union, SC (famous or infamous for the Susan Smith case-where she drowned her 2 boys) for Thanksgiving. Waaay too much food, but DAve does love his collards. He has adapted well to fried okra, grits and collards. :D LOL
I went to take a salad to DAve's office party and his co-worker told me I need to eat! Ya just smile and keep on goin'! I had to go to Rosewood Deli yesterday and I couldn't resist the items for sale. Rosewood Deli is fresh and natural food, I picked up sandwiches, wrap and slice of quiche.
I did manage to do legs yesterday. Thanks for the compliment! I really do appreciate it.
I am so thankful for such wonderful women on this Forum! I couldn't be motivated without y'all. And in turn I hope I motivate y'all!
Lori I'll send you my wish list!
Diane, I hope you enjoy your party!

Annette, you are one strong girl! 25 lbs! that's so impressive. good on you! I love that. what do you use the 25lber's for? squats?
is Dave into fitness like you too? or is it just you & Andrew who are the athletes? you said Katie's not all that into it. maybe when she gets alittle older. she's still really young. girls aren't like boys at a young age when it comes to sports. don't you think?
Circuit City is closing out here. lots of stores in the mall were going out of business when I went shopping yesterday. scarey. I do think it will get better though now that you have a new President. I really do believe that. (not just in the fianance department either)
& Annette, I've said it before, I love your links of info. I always enjoyed them at VF.
that last article, I think she could have just worded it better. because, I do think that some exercises aren't for everyone.
Annette, you & I could open a denim store, by the sounds of it. DH said, "I'm the Emelda Marcos of jeans". a girl can't have enough pairs of jeans, is my motto.
Rosewood Deli, now that sounds like it's right up my alley.
& since you got all mushy, I love you all too. I enjoy checking in with you all. what I like, is we get along so well. nicer then alot of the cattiness at other forums. I still think it's because we are so fond of Anna. It's one of those, 'great minds think alike' deals.;)
seems like we have known each other a long time. very comfortable. well you & Diane have known each other for a long time. LOL. I've only known Annette for a long time from her posts at VF. rambling now....your all really great. nicest girls I've ever yakked with online.
feels like we could very easily get together & have a great lunch together.
one last thing about cellulite, Annette. I feel if women didn't have cellulite, then we'd be boys, right! LOL
everyone have a good weekend.

Hi Ladies;
I am not in a good mood today I am so teed at my husband I could use a different word but I think I will get bleeped, He is letting the tenant in our house house have a party. On a normal day you have to tell her to turn down the music what does he think is going to happen now that he is letting her play the music. Plus we weren't going to be home is he stupid or what?
This person doesn't have respect for other peoples property as it is. What does he think what will happen when she knows we are not home.
Lori you started Christmas shopping too. I am just not in the mood. Plus I am having trouble with one of credit cards I would usually buy things when I see it and my husband would give me the money for it most of the time. I shouldn't have had cards with just one company thats what I get.
I Know it just because I am not happy with myself. I am just sounding to negative today plus my sister ticked me off yesterday to but I won't go on.
Lori something I don't where to much of is jeans I don't find them comfortable even when I am at a lower weight. Most of my jeans look new because I don't where them much.
I heard some of the Circuit City stores are closing I also heard some of the Old Navy also I need to use a gift card I have before its no good.
Saundra I finally started cleaning up I don't want to do it though but I am trying to put a little effort in and get something done, I was so embarrassed when the Firemen came in and this week the Fios guy, just so much clutter all over.
Annette I like collards also depending on how they are cooked I don't cook many different types of food because my husband doesn't like a lot of stuff, steak for one so if I cook it, its just for myself. But I do think he is getting sick of his mother's pasta.
No workout today I should have though to get some of this aggression out.

poor Diane. you sound like you need a break.
no, the Christmas shopping is for my DH's work Christmas Party. prizes.
I don't do Christmas shopping. seriously. I hardly buy anything & when I do, it's right near the end.
I hope your tenant doesn't trash your place.
it was crazy busy at Costco. & Walmart, Sears too. I thought everybody was supposed to be broke?

Hi y'all,
I did housework yesterday. Mopped floors, vacuumed, etc. oh yeah, did watch College Football. Clemson won! Now we have to win over USC for a bowl bid. USC is already bowl bound. And yes I live in a house sooo divided!
I do lat rows at 30,25, 20 and 15 depending on the workout. Often times I'll pyramid, like Upper Body Sculpting. Squats I kinda whimp out...:D usually 12 or 15. I can go heavier.
Dave plays "safe sports" like bowling and he does like softball, baseball. I think Andrew gets his athleticism from my dad. He played football, baseball and basketball. Since Andrew is vertically challenged like his dad, Andrew enjoys football and baseball. I am hoping Andrew will try track.
I am not that athletically inclined, I wish I was, I did take dance when I was younger and cheered in college. And an assistant dancer to the football team. Yep that was a hoot. We kept threatened them with tutus and Swan Lake LOL
One of the local gyms for children are opening at 4:00 AM on Black Friday complete with breakfast. I try not to get out in that crowd during the weekend. Plus Clemson/USC weekend is Saturday. I am having a party for Andrew's friends.
I am hoping that Katie will run track, she has the legs for it not the confidence. She is not a bad tennis player either. She is in that "priss pot" teenage stage. I didn't have much confidence either when it came to sports. I think that came later when I started aerobics in earnest.
Diane, it must be something in the air with men, are you sure they are not seperated at birth. My friend from Missouri thinks that her husband and DAve are seperated at birth, maybe they are triplets!!
Sometimes men pass the idiot stage and go straight to the eejiot stage. For example, my house needs painting. The shower upstairs leak, the ceiling needs to be repaired and what does Dave do....buys a TV that is waaaaay too large for the room over the garage. Which I had told him that it was too large anyway! If I am to workout with TV, I need to cut the walls out, make an addition upstairs just to workout. On top of that he is vertically challenged so everything has to be tall! We want evvvven discuss the grandfather clock. And the over the top Christmas tree (just because one has 9ft ceilings that doesn't mean one needs to get a 9ft tree).
Oh I am already being a Grinch...I went to Publix (I don't really like Publix but salad mix is cheap there) and they were playin' Christmas Music! Already! Give me a break. Dave is thinkin' about a Christmas ham. And right now I don't wanna even think about food!
All I want is a simple Christmas. Steak and shrimp with a great glass of wine would do me well. Oh yeah and a bowl bid. And a few workout dvds and equipment. And the winning lottery ticket. Can't anything be simple anymore.
So if y'all ever get depressed or in a snitty mood, I can tell ya some great stories to cheer you up. As I told me friend, ya got have a sense of humor living in Irmo!
Diane, if you like I'll try and call all the stores and tell them to take pasta off the shelves. Bless your heart.
I dropped off a salad for Dave's office on Friday, and one of his co-workers told me I looked great and how skinny I was. Yadayada. Then she says I need to eat. I said, I want to get as like this, raising my pinkie finger. Of course it is a little exagration but the point made is that why I am thankful for the compliment, telling someone to eat because they are taking care of themselves defeats the purpose. Why people don't understand that. The word "eat" also is a trigger point for me, especially growing up in a household where I was told to "eat." And functions surrounded by food and eat. Which is not a bad thing though.
How does one ignore the word "eat" from vocabulary without pigging out on food. That happened to me year before last as well. My aunt said "I made all this food now eat" and what did I do, have a second helping. Which I got totally sick the day after. Any wisdom y'all. I know we have all been there in our journeys. How do y'all do it or not do?
Sorry speakin' of food, how do you make your collards. In a pinch I love "Glory" collards. :D
Thanks for the compliments, y'all are special, and I believe it is our love of Anna that keeps us together.

I am taking a break from home work.
I am thinking that I am just going to do gift cards this year. There will be no Day after Thanksgiving shopping for me, unless it is online, plus I have to work.
Annette, you are so much fun. I don't make collards to I can't help you. I am such a microwave person.
Diane, sorry to hear about your bad day. And I did hear about Circuit City closing doors but not Old Navy. I know Linens and Things are closing all of its stores. They have a going out of business sign and everything must go but they stop taking coupons. The coupons were for 20%. They slash prices between 10% and 30%. Then they say because they have slash the prices they are no longer honoring coupons. I could see if they slash prices by 40 to 50% not to take coupons but the measley price slashing that they did do wasn't enticing at all.
Lori, I agree. It absolutely does not make sense why they would put a KB on the cover. One lady on a different forum sent me a PM about the background and the whole uproar over it (which apparently I miss). She said a lot of retailers were refusing to sell it because of that.
I am very happy to report that the neighborhood kids finally came around to rake leaves. It cost me $5 buck. Of course I had to provide a bag and a broom but I didn't have to be out there doing it myself. So, I consider the money well spent.

Saundra:
I just heard that Old Navy will be closing some of its stores I guess the ones not doing well. Is Circuit City closing all of them?
Oh I finally did some cleaning too I didn't vacuume yet I an waiting for my hubby to do through is junk and papers. But my bedroom looks decent now.
Annette I am not one for adding much stuff ti food. with the collards I just add some olive oil not to much if I am doing it for myself and the a little salt and pepper and garlic and then I just sautee them.
How did you end up using 25 pounds? I do use 20 pounds once in a while but usually 15 pounds is the most I use. When I use the bar bell I might go heavier. You must be in some shape.
I have a list for my husband also Number one on the list is getting a new garage door opener I told him I am going to leave the car outside if he doesn't fix it soon.
I didn't do any activities in school unless you count walking 4 miles back and forth to school.
Lori we have this shopping center that is always busy and I think the same thing I thought people didn't have money. I don't do that much Christmas shopping either I used to do a lot of gift cards but I don't think so this year.
So how was your yoga week?
I did a rare Sunday workout it was an easier one but I like it Firm Basics Sculpting with weights. I do add weights during the squats and lunges and ankle weights for the leg work.

Diane, your so sweet..& thanks for asking...I was already tempted to add some running into the mix with my yoga. but, I will continue with my plan. yesterday, one of the dvd's I did not care for & only got 15 minutes into it & put another one in. guess, so far this is pretty good, this is the first I didn't like. I don't care for the instructor. & the style is more athletic-like instead of a traditional yoga workout (which I am looking for).
as for my flexibility, it's already improving some. my hamstrings are looser, but my shoulders are still very, very tight.
I lost 1 & 1/2 pounds & holding. plus my bodyfat % is still the same. curious to see how this week plays out. I still have 11 yoga dvd's to get through. I thought I would gain alittle because it's an easier type workout? but, no, I think also it decreases my appetite some? anyhow, enough about me.....
all the Circuit City's here are closing out. & Saundra, people here were complaining too about the bogus deals at Linen & Thing's going out of business sales also. no Old Navy's here closing out. I think they are doing alright here? who knows really though, hey?
wonder why 10 min sol. would do something like that? obviously to rake in alot of money because of the kbell craze, but, to wreck their reputation? they had such a good thing going, reputation wise with all their other dvds? jerks somewhere in the mix in that caper?
where are those kids here? $5!? I have to rake some more leaves here, today in fact. I think it will be the last of the raking though. not much left on the trees now. & not too much on the ground either.
been sunny & crisp here, how about where you all are? still around 52 F or alittle above. frosty in the mornings though. back east is another story. yikes! awful snowstorms already. poor souls.
any of you have plans for Thanksgiving?
crm549
November 24th, 2008, 01:06 AM
Good Morning.
Lori, I am trying not to have plans for Thanksgiving. I have been invited a couple of places and honestly I just want to stay home and chill out. ---- I don't like yoga that flows too fast. I have a yoga tape by Shape called Long Lean & Strong and I thought the lady (Teri Hanson) moved way to fast through her poses. I know that was the type of yoga she was doing but I didn't care for it.
Diane, I have 25lbs dumbbell weights, but I have yet to used them. I got them for Cathe's STS program. With this program you are suppose to start with heavy weights and then drop down when you can't do any more of the reps. The heaviest dumbell weight I used has been 22.5lbs and that was with the one are row. I am not sure if the Circuit City's are closing or if they just had to declare bankruptcy.
I am checking in with Amy Benot Advance Step Challenge 2 combos 3, 4,&5. The choreagraphy in this workout is challenging so I have been learning a combo at a time. I now need to go back and learn combos 1 and 2.

oh Saundra, you are so right, Circuit City declared bankruptcy here also.
I know exactly how you feel about just wanting to stay home for Thanksgiving...alone. I've been feeling this way for years with Christmas to be honest. my DH has been calling me the grinch for a few years past.
there's always so much drama & stress with the holidays? no?
I'm like you also with the yoga. I've tried quite a few power yoga dvds & I just don't like them. I can't keep up with them. all the ones I bought are pretty slow, more relaxing & stretching. I think you'd probably like the ones I bought.
I gave the one I didn't like yesterday another s.hot (for some reason s.hot isn't being able to be typed either) & actually liked it. I liked it so much, I'm going to buy her other dvd. Stacy McCarthy Fat Burning Yoga. yesterday morning was not a good morning, obviously it wasn't really the dvd, it must of been me. I woke up at 3 in the morning & could not fall back asleep. I ended getting up at 4 & had couple cups of coffee. then decided to do a yoga workout. of course after lunch time, I was tired & dragging pretty much all day.
I've said it before Saundra & I'll say it again, I envy your tenacity to even try those choreo-challenged workouts. they are way too hard for me to grasp.
we have 25lber's, I've never used them. just DH. The heaviest I've used is 15lb's. we have a NordicFlex multi-gym. it's like the Bowflex. (it was before the Bowflex came out) I rarely use that anymore. DH still uses it. to be honest I haven't used it in quite sometime.
I lucked out! the street cleaner came by & cleaned all the leaves in front of our house. LOL, now I only have to do alittle bit in the backyard.

Hi y'all, the last time I raked leaves is when I was pregant with Katie. I was borderline of having a c-section and the doctor told me go out and get active. That was a Sunday afternoon and I gave birth on Monday.
True story, I was in a local shop, looking for used weights. And I said something about maybe I should just stop at 'x' poundage. The sales guy looked at me and said, "why stop yourself short." That was inspiration for me. There are days and depending on the workout when I don't always lift as heavy.
I tried Amy couldn't wrap my head around her much less my feet and hands. I still have a few of hers for sale. I really do like Amy just can't get it.
I had plans to do a yoga workout and an awt, but noooo, this over the top tech equipment was not hooked up to anything. Dave had the nerve to ask do you need a vcr (to a vidiot like myself), and I replied, "when you have a 45.00 Ballroom Aerobic tape, uhm, yea I do." Anyway, nothin' went as planned. So downstairs I go.....did Tina's Sculpting Ball and Robyn's Pilates. My ball does not bounce.
I feel so out of shape! Can't wait until I can get a kick**** workout with my equipment. There was no way in the world I was goin' to drag all that stuff downstairs, that WOULD have been a workout!
Dave is home this week, so I am kinda of cranky, didn't get my cat nap in after the kids left :D Plus I gotta go shoppin' tomorrow with him. I need to pickup a few things.
Y'all have a great night!

LMAO Annette! you sound like me! when my DH is home too much, it drives me crazy! I love him, but, I'm scared what it will be like when he retires!?!
I've been so bad today. I ordered 4 more yoga dvds.
2 by Susan Winter Ward
Yoga for Urban Living
Nicki Doane
I've gotta stop. now I'm addicted to yoga. LOL
I hate going shopping with my DH. he always says stuff like, "don't you have one of those already?" or "do you really need that".....I like going on my own much better.

Hi Ladies
Annette I like your true story. And he is right "Why stop yourself short?". I can go heavier than I go alot of the times too. And when I first tried Amy, I couldn't get my head around her either. Mostly because of her cueing. But I am okay with her now.
Lori, you are going Yoga crazy. But if they are giving you results - go for it. Do you prefer dvds with the Yoga setting outdoors or indoors. I like indoors myself, but I like indoor sets for most workouts. The outdoor sets I find distracting.
I am checking in with Total Muscle Shaping.

November 25th, 2008, 01:38 AM
Saundra, your thinking always intrigues me. you always have a way of making one use their mind. I like that about you. You ask such great questions.
I think I'm the opposite. I like the outdoor settings. but, then on 2 of the yoga dvd's I did, I really liked the sets. Yoga Burn, which looked kind of like a Japanese setting. very calming, wood floors, those ricepapered wall dividers, sand & rocks, pebbles surrounding him. Stacy McCarthy's set was quite similar. earth tones, green & mauvey purple. quite appealing to the eye. peaceful like. but, in general I think I like outdoors more. I'm kind of a outdoorsy person anyhow.
Saundra, I am enjoying this yoga rotation truly. I think maybe I was overdoing the treadmill. don't get me wrong, I love the treadmill. but, maybe continuous of 7 months of it, brings me to this state of mind?
I don't know if it's my imagination, but I feel already standing taller. looking leaner? it can't be all in my head, because the "scale don't lie", right?
I like how you said, if it's giving results, go for it. your always such a motivator too in that sense Saundra. Annette's like that too.
I've really noticed the appetite. I keep saying that. but, I'm not so hungry as usual. Annette, you do alot of yoga, do you notice when you practice your appetite decreases? or maybe not, because you do alot of the power yoga workouts?
we'll see how long I will stay with this program. I'm surprised, because I thought I would truly hate it. I have the attention span normally of a flea.
but, I am really liking it. I feel so rested. guess I needed it.
I even went & bought some candles last weekend & light them up with my practices. becoming a geniune yogini now. LOL
did you see totalfitnessdvds.com has the new Firms? did you preorder?

Hi Ladies:
Lori my town is supposed to have curb side pick of for the leaves and they never came, its driving me nuts I keep raking the same leaves over and over. When you try to put them in a bag they won't take the leaves either. So it's really annoying they were a street over about 2 weeks ago and I never saw them again.
So you are not doing any weight lifting either?
Annette when did you pay $45.00 for the Ballroom aerobics tape?
Did you bulk up when you started using the heavier weights?
I get annoyed when my husband is home also, he ruins the flow of my day.
Sanudra I kind of like the outdoor Yoga dvd's but then it could be because the first yoga dvd I bought was out side.
Do you like when they talk or do you like when its naratted?
Yesterday was Light Aerobics Mix with 20 minutes of walking
Today was Super Sculpting.

Hi y'all,,,that man drove me to the mall today. So I went shoppin'. Bath and Body works sent me two coupons for 10.00, so I HAD to pick presents to take to Union. Champs store had the ear muff headband things for 1.00, so I got 4 as stocking stuffers. Sears didn't have any workouts much less weights. But they had other stuff. I went to Tweeters because they are goin' out of business. The guy looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about a vcr. And suggested I go to Walmart (which I couldn't have too many plus they are encoded). Or get a dvd/vcr combo, which I ain't payin' 150.00.
Lori, I had Nicki, I wish I had known because I gave it away. KateTT from VF has it listed as a sase. I have Urban Living with Hemelaya. I got that one from the Dollar Store last year. That is a good one.
I have no preference with the scenery. I finally got used to Mark Blanchards w/o music. Mark reminds of a mix between Tony Horton and Gunther Ranker (sp) of the ball workouts. I had Kundalina but I prefer Power Yoga. I can do a decent push up on my toes. And I feel I am gathering more strength. But with yoga, there is no such thing as a perfect pose, just keep getting deeper into the pose. Which goes against the grain sometimes of perfection. Does that make sense?
When I first tried yoga didn't like, but after the Fitprimes, I began to like. I can't remember which one I started with first. Then I started reading about yoga and Buddhist. I don't eat as much either. I read somewhere to eat like you are getting ready to do a yoga practice.
I did slump my shoulders, what cured me of that was putting weights on my shoulders. But I agree I do feel taller at times. I think because in yoga, we create space and stretching.
Saundra I did like Amy's Slo Mo and Cardio Pump. I could get those, but I ended trading Slo-Mo. Time I finished with that one, my room looked like a combat zone.
Diane I lucked up on eBay a few years ago and got Cardio 1 and 2, and Ballroom for under 30.00, because the person who listed it, didn't have a picture.
Speakin' of shoppin', went to Sam's. We would have been okay if Dave had decided to get Sister Scupert's yeast rolls. What in the world will I do with 30 yeast rolls. I am takin' those to Union. Ditto, for 36 sausage biscuits, bacon and sausage. He is planning on cooking breakfast in the morning.
The patron saint of athletes is St. Sebastain, the closest we could come to a workout vidiot saint. I think I need to find a novena. Or there has got be an prayer on Rosary's somewhere. :)
I am kinda of cranky so please excuse, didn't sleep well the past few nights and no catnaps. Now the vcr is working but no dvd. I can't win for losing! I can't wait until everyone goes back to school and work. In the meantime, I did Anna's Flexposture and V1. I had another revelation. When Susan does the compound exercises with heavy weights, I didn't go to a full range of motion. So it hit the muscles in a different way. And that workout has small, medium and large weights, so you get a different for each muscle group. I wish I could find those toe weights.
I only did 8lbs with legs and no ankle weights. Susan's legs are tough in that one. That woman who wrote the article about NOT doing crunches must have had a weight drop on her head! I felt my abs.
I wish my ball could bounce like in Tiny's workout, I was disappointed that it didn't because I wanted a bouncy ball to do in Fitprime workouts. :( did the Firm make a bouncy ball?
Do y'all have FitTv. They have some great workouts, I especially enjoy Namaste Yoga when I do have time to do.
Y'all have a great Wednesday!
Lori
November 25th, 2008, 12:37 PM
Annette, you crack me up! you need to go on Central Comedy! your posts are so hilarious.
but, I need your help. I can't do crow's pose for the life of me. is this humbling or what!? I can't get my feet off the mat!? I thought I WAS strong on my upper body, but apparently not. is there a trick or a tip? it seems to kill my triceps when I try to put my thighs on top?
I did have Nicki & Urban Living Yoga before & traded them. now of course I want them again.
I tried a few Kundalini workouts & that I really don't get or really care much for.
maybe at another point in my life? who knows, right?
Namaste Yoga is from here, it's on all the local channels. It's too hard for me. too fast paced. the first 2 episodes were easy enough, but, I didn't like the cueing all that much. plus, they aren't long enough. & yoga doesn't seem to work well with doing back to backs with the relaxation pose, you know what I mean?
& yes, Annette, this is why I think I needed to get away from my regular routine of running & weights. I have a tendancy to get into a perfection mode. this is why I'm really liking yoga. there is no competition.
I don't think the Firm had a ball that bounced. I can only remember the blue one they used all the time.
a total steal on the ballroom vhs. I think I saw it last time on ebay for $99.
Annette, do you visit YaYa's often?
yes Diane, no weights either. strictly yoga. & walking the dog.
I think for me, (fingers crossed) that is the last of raking leaves here. they seem to be all gone & the trees look bald. it's snowing on our mountains. they are opening tomorrow for ski season. blech!
Saundra, how's the forum going on at Firmdirect? I haven't been there for awhile?
crm549
November 26th, 2008, 12:36 AM
Lori, no the Crosstrainer's board is slow. We have 73 members but I think most people just lurked. I think part of the problem is people are checking in at other forums (not just the FIRM) and after awhile it get's to be too much. Even I forget to check in at other places. Also part of the problem is the site itself can be extremely slow.
As far as working out goes, most experts recommend changing up your workout routine every 3 months or so, so you won't get burnt out. When I used to do just the FIRM all the time, I would get annoyed at all the leg presses. When I was doing Cathe all the time, I would get annoyed with all the "sculpt 7s" she put in her workouts. When I started mixing and matching, I was less annoyed. I think I was experiencing the syndrome - "Familiarity breeds contempt".
Now because I do so many different and new workouts, when I do a FIRM (the older ones not the pinks) or a Cathe, I love it because my muscle memory can just take over and I can just go with it.
Annette, I am not really a fan of Amy's strength and weight workouts. Although I have them all. ----You can check Amazon for a medicine ball that bounces. I think their prices are fairly reasonable. Anna once was selling Ballroom Aerobics in the plain white cover for $27.00. I passed on it. It is the only FIRM I do not own. And believe it or not, I don't miss not having it.
Diane, NO. I don't like narrated workout videos. I prefer them to talk. In fact if I see a preview clip of the workout before I buy it and it shows that it's narrated, I will most likely pass. From my experience, I found that the narration never stayed in synch with what they were doing on camera. In October I bought a couple of Aerospace workouts (jump rope and boxing) and the instructor narrates and I was a bit peeved, but I haven't done the workouts yet, so I will reserve judgement. Kathy Smith tends to narrate. I think she is the only one so far that doesn't annoy me.
Also, it is the same where I live, the waste management people will not pick up the leaves even when they are in trash bags. I think leaves only get picked up on recycle day. Which is every other Friday I believe. Althougth it doesn't seem as if they are consistent with that. But I believe if I put the leaves in a trash bag, they should pick it up.
I was supposed to do The FIRM's Slim & Trim, but I opted instead to practice some more of ASC2 and ASC3.

Hi y'all, Happy Thanksgiving and Rivalry Week!
Gotta have a sense of humor livin' in Irmo! Either I'll go to jail or the looney bin and if I do please send me workout stuff!
ASC2/3 is Amy Bento.
I do visit alot at Firm Yayas and VF. 27.00 is not bad for Ballroom. I love doing that one on Sunday's for a relaxin' workout.
It has been holding stead around 50 degrees or so, just came back from the store it was 35. Got several books from the library including Balducci and The Yoga Teacher. The Yoga Teacher is the book mentioned on VF.
I did today Baron's Unlocking the Athletic Power and Tough Tape 1. I think my **** is lifted NOW! :D The crow pose. Someone suggested putting a pillow down in front. I still can't lift my head off the ground. You have to place hands and feet in front really close. The upper thigh goes on the triceps. I was watchin' a yoga show on ETV and she said not to shift your body weight forward. It took me a long time to get it. I still not there yet.
Another good upper body is Rodney Yee's. It is short sweet and simple. I find myself with yoga getting deeper in a pose. I realized today that certain poses point to the ceiling or top of finger tips (unless you can't get into a pose, then you look down) or at an object to hold poses. I find that very positive.
I can do the wheel but I feel like my bones in back are compressing together. But I do like that pose because of gets rid of depression. I wish it would get rid of housework!
Y'all have a great one!

Sorry Ladies:
I had the kiddies all day today until 7:00pm.
Saundra I do have Ballroom aerobics and it's just o.k. The stretching at the end is too much it is that hard of a workout to need that much stretching.
Saundra I haven't been on Cathe's site lately any news?
It's funny when I am working out I think of you ladies a lot and the comments made about certain workouts, yesterday during the workout I was thinking of Saundra and agreeing with her that some times there is just too many reps of one arm rows.
Lori I might just have to try the Yoga rotation just to see if it helps with the hunger issues, for me if anything helps I will try it.
Annette doing you like when your husband goes shopping with you? I find mine to be a pain in the b.utt especially if I want to pick up moisturizer or some other cosmetic item.
I know Saundra you said you were staying home tomarrow, but do you ladies usually workout on a Holiday if I have the time or if it's a day for a workout I will plan one.
I am off to my sisters tomarrow.
Today was A yoga workout Rodney Energy and the treamill and a ab section from ab hits.

Happy Thanksgiving Fitness Favorite Partners!
Diane, you should try a yoga rotation. I really am enjoying it. I thought I would gain weight for one or lose muscle strength. not the case at all.
I'm finding I'm sleeping much better too.
I had Yoga for Energy & had to trade it quite some time ago. too difficult for me.
I do workout on holidays. I'm compulsive though. self-admitting.
that is a long day with kids.
how many sisters do you have, Diane? do they all live close?
ahh, Annette you never miss a beat, do you?! your quick as a whip. that mind of yours. you have such a talent for posting. I just love your sense of humor.
I want to know how DH can do crow pose with such ease?!
I am going to try your tips. I think my hands are too far away. & I do believe I've been shifting my weight forward. I'm going to try & keep practicing that one.
wheel I can do. it's funny how some poses you can do & others you can't. I guess it all depends on one's flexibility. everyone has better flexibility in certain areas, I'm guessing.
I used to go to YaYa's years & years ago, then it became so overwhelming. I just got confused & lost in the mix. It was like a country bumpkin in the b.ig city for me. LOL
it's sunny & cool here. hovering around 50 F. supposed to warm up with rain tomorrow & the next day. as long as it doesn't snow, I'm happy.
Annette, after you read the Yoga Teacher do tell your thoughts about it.
Saundra, did you decide to take any of those offers for Thanksgiving or are you gonna relax at home?

Hi Lori:
Unless you count the Laundry and the stairs.
I most certainly count laundry & stairs.
when I do chores on Sunday's, this is supposed to be my rest day. I swear I do burn more calories on Sunday then any other day of the week. this is exactly why I use this day as my cheat day for take out. & course I like Annette's motto..."no calories count on Sundays". LOL
are you closer (not by living closer) with your sister that lives closer than the one in Florida? are you all close in age?
how's your house coming along?
are you still walking daily with your laid off friend?

Hi y'all, happy thanksgiving! I am more stuffed than a turkey!
-I'll let y'all know about Yoga Teacher, only in the first chapter. I have readers ADD, I have about 6 books goin' tryin to finish Balducci's newest. One week hold on that one.
-Dave and I goin' grocery shoppin' is like the Punch and Judy show. If I give him a list, he doesn't get everything. Or if I go he gets 25 rolls of paper towels or large cake. I really don't like grocery shoppin' but in my head I know what I have to get, the basics and whatever is on sale. I like goin' to Food Lion after 8:00 service to get meats.
-Laundry does count as workout as well as lifting the basket, squating to sort clothes, hanging up clothes. Compound workouts! Hmm, maybe we can come up with a laundry workout! :D LOL Grab your 2lb laundry baskets!
-If laundry counts as a workout what about lifting fork to mouth? Working those biceps!
-My friend from Missouri is a grandmother again! Her son and his wife had a baby girl last night!
-My sister lives in Columbia but on the other side of town. My dad and stepmother live in Miami. He is original from Miami. My mother's family lives in Union. My aunt who was married to my uncle lives in Union, and we go up there for Thanksgiving. So yes I did eat just a tad too much, but not too bad. Took a large salad, with tomatoes, apples, walnuts, pecans, celery, cheese, celery, romaine lettuce, mandarin oranges.
-Yes, when is the party?
-I did Bryan's Energize, yeah baby, energzie me! And a sculpting workout. I don't think Dave could do a crow pose if his life depended on it. I find with yoga, flexiability and strength comes with time and practice, even though some of flexability and strength has a genetic component to it.
-One of the guests at Aunt Brenda's is from Washington, DC, of course I thought about you Saundra. He is a hottie!
-Hope y'all had a great day!

Hi Ladies,
I hope you all had a pleasant Thanksgiving and/or Thursday. Lori, I know you had your Thanksgiving a while back.
So, yesterday I actually staid at home, all down and didn't venture out at all. Around 1230am - this morning, my neighbor rung the doorbell. I was up. My bedroom looks out over the front side of the house, so I raised my window and ask what was up.
He wanted to know if I knew that my passenger side window was broken. I was like no I didn't know.
Went outside to take a look and the whole front passenger side window was shattered. There was glass everywhere. I am not sure when it happen or who did it.
Because it was after midnight I just grabbed a trashbag and tape it over the window to cover the hole.
I checked to see if anything was taken and couldn't find that anything was taken, so because of that I decided against calling the police.
When I went back out this morning to clean up all the glass, I couldn't find my suction cup for my GPS. Although my GPS wasn't taken. So I don't know. Overall, I would say I live in a pretty safe neighborhood. People don't bother other people's stuff. Although occassionly you do hear about it happening.
So I was suppose to go to work today, but the Glass repair people couldn't get me in until after 130pm and the man said it would take about an hour and half to two hours. So I called work and told them that I wouldn't be in. They had my window repaired in 1/2 hour. So I thought about going to work and even called to see if they needed me to come in, but my manager was like don't worry about it.
So that was my adventure.
And Laundry and the stairs can definately be considered a workout. I have a 3 story townhouse (2 levels and a basement) My washing machine and dryer are in the basement. So carrying clothes from the basement up to my bedroom definatly gets the heart rate up.
Diane, Cathe has reported that Mesocycle 1 of STS has been sent to the replicators. I am hoping this is a sign that I will have the program my Christmas.
I did a 30 minute walk on my treadmill.

Saundra, I was wondering what you were up to? that's really crappy about your car. maybe somebody got scared off?
needless to say, a pure nuisance.
when stuff like that happens, I'm always so spooked after. you feel violated in some way. you just never know who's lurking around do you?
It always gets my mind thinking..."who did it?, when did it happen, blah, blah, blah".
do you feel the need now to get a car alarm?
wonder where your suction cup is? did you find it?
I've been still sticking with the yoga only. I will admit, I was thinking of getting on the treadmill. starting to miss it.
I've done 11 days of yoga only. I am planning to go through all the yoga dvd's I bought straight through. I want to make sure they play properly also. I still have 11 dvd's left. I ended up with quite a yoga collection.
I will say, that I have gained alot of flexibility in my legs & shoulders. the main reason for doing the yoga was for the legs. I didn't realize how tight my shoulders were, only to find out during the yoga dvds.
I am wondering if it will be difficult for me to start running again, after almost 3 weeks of not running? curious.
I do plan on doing 3 days of running & 3 yoga days rotations, for awhile.
I am pleasantly surprised with the yoga for strength training. my arms & legs are sore almost daily. just as if doing a hard strength day. I think from all the yogi push-ups & the isometric holds on the legs.
another pleasant surprise was actual weight loss. I was worried I would gain alittle. your so right, your body does get accustomed to the same old, same old.
Saundra, when you run on your treadmill are you at the same point as when you last had your old treadmill?
Go Clemson Go!!!!!!

Lori, I haven't run on the treadmill yet. I have been doing the built in programs and the group I am doing now only has you go as fast as 3.5 miles per hour.
I do have low jack on the car, which let's me know if someone tries to steal the car, but not if someone is just trying to just break in.
That is good that you are testing all your DVDs. I learned that the hard way. As soon as I get a DVDs, I will play the dvd even if I don't do the workout for awhile. Good job on the weight lost!:)
Totalfitnessdvds.com has clips up of the 3 new FIRM workouts.
They look okay. I was excited when I saw the super mini clip on You tube, now that I can see more of the workout, I am not as excited. We will see.

Saundra, funny you mentioned that you have been using the 3.5 mile per hour program. I was already thinking of when I got through the yoga dvds that I would just power-walk again on the treadmill. I seemed to not burn out with that routine. & weight-wise, I'm realizing that doing harder increased my appetite substantially.
yes Saundra, I have learned myself to 'play' the dvds also.
it's okay anyhow with these yoga dvds, they are forcing me to stick with this rotation also. never would have believed I would be enjoying it this much. I was always a believer of yoga being somewhat 'not much' of a 'real workout'.
if & when you get your new Cathe's are you going to do them right away? or are you planning to stick with your scheduled rotation?
I cancelled my pre-orders on the new Firms ( I think I'm repeating myself here? I'm not sure, but, I think I already mentioned that). never in my life would I have believed I'd do that! I am changing. I have become so disenchanted with the Pink Firms. sad, really. but, just being honest with myself.
you must let me know if you get them. I will be curious & I have valued your honesty in your reviews.
I sure hope no one bothers with your car again. wonder when it happened? you be extra careful Saundra. worries me.
In a perfect world, there would be no bad people, huh? why can't people live in peace & just leave each other's property alone? sucks.
oh shoot! just remembered! been meaning to bring it up several times, but keep forgetting!
I'm not sure if you already know this yet, Saundra. but, on the local news they are forewarning anyone who has put their name on the lotto-list for Olympic tickets to be sure that your credit card has room to take the full charge of ordered tickets. if your balance is not able to take the full charge, apparently they will not issue you your tickets. they will not tell you in advance when the charge is coming. & they go straight on to the next person on the list. you can totally miss out. you only get one chance kind of deal. they do not tell you that they were unable to charge your card & wait for you kind of thing. hope that made some kind of sense?
Saundra, thanks again for listening to me. rambling on about my silly yoga. reminds me of a couple of weekends ago, when I said the same thing to you. nice chatting with you. it's so nice to be able to relate something like this.

yes, I am officially addicted to yoga. I just ordered 3 - 20 minute Sara Ivanhoe Yoga Makeover dvds. I am going to use all 3 for a 60 minute session.
I swear I will stop buying after these?
