Hi! I hope this question hasn't bee asked before, but I have a question about one of the moves in Flexposture. It's the one where you start with your legs in the air and lower your legs either one-at-a-time or together. Tamela says to hold the yoga block "under your glutes" for support. My problem is, I have really short arms, and I found I could hardly touch the block at all - so "holding" the block was out of the question! Am I doing something wrong here? Is it possible that people with short arms just won't be able to hold onto the block?

TIA!!!

Hi, Linda,

If no one else sees this who's done it, I am scheduled to do this one this weekend I think, and I'll get back to you. I have short arms (I think), but I'm tall...

Anyone else have any insight?

I haven't seen this move but is it possible that you could strap a towel around the block and hold onto that?

I have short arms too, but I was able to hold onto the block - just barely! You do have to crunch yourself up pretty good to do this - I think it gives your abs an extra workout! ;)

However, I would not see anything wrong with the suggestion of wrapping the towel around the block and holding onto the towel.

I think you could pass on holding the block as long as you hold your abs in really tight. LIke pushing your belly button towards your back. The purpose of this move I think is to keep the abs contracted at all times. Good luck. or the towel idea sounded pretty good too. I use a small pillow cause I don't have a block yet.

Thanks for the advice about the towel - I'll try it out next time I do the workout. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll go block-less and just make sure I contract my abs a lot.

Thanks!!

I had a real problem with this too the first time I did this workout with my normal block. I did it today with another block that I have with no problems at all. This block is a good bit longer than my normal block. Maybe you could find one of those blocks and that would help. I can't remember where I got mine (Target, Borders?) but it was part of some package deal that included a video, and a couple of pillow thingies. Sorry to sound vague but I hope this helps some.
